Skill Monkey

The Skill Monkey shares his EotE game philosophy.

Also, this brings us up to date with the current O66 episodes. Further Skill Monkey segments will probably post the week AFTER they air on the cast unless someone has a good reason why this should be different.

Because... that would force us to wait a whole week? That's like being punished for something.

I just discovered Skill Monkey yesterday, and have just caught up (except for the very newest one) and must say that it's a great source of inspiration. However I do wonder at why Fiddleback let failure stack in several of these episodes, isn't that the exact opposite as the RAW?

Because we never listen to the Order66 Podcast?

New Skill Monkey, with life changing, radical ideas.

Best one yet. I love how you broke this idea down and will be using this in my future games. I do sometimes make PCs over roll and you are right if the plot needs them to succeed why bother having them roll and be frustrated. Thanks love it!

Ladies and Gentlemen, The Skill Monkey has an announcement:

We've moved. You can find details on the former blog, but to summarize, you can now find the Skill Monkey podcast at http://www.madadventurers.com

Yes, the Skill Monkey podcast. The Skill Monkey is now a podcast in it's own rite. Still the same format and style, but on it's own production schedule. Which is good news for you on two fronts.

First, that means it will update indepedantly of the Order 66, which should mean more Skill Monkey for you to enjoy.

Second, being it's own podcast, it is now also available on iTunes at

https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/mad-adventurers-society-skill/id735255014 for your listening, subscribing, rating, and reviewing pleasure.

Sweet!!! I mean I never listen to the Order 66 podcast. Not while at work especially.

Look forward to hearing more of your Monkey Business.

Fiddleback, Will you continue the segment on the Order 66 podcast? How much overlap will we be seeing with Order 66?

The content that is created for the Skill Monkey from here on out will be unique and original. The Order 66 will pull from that content and 're-air' it as they see fit. Nothing they use will be original material created exclusively for them.

What?

Skill Monkey is one of my favorite parts of not listening to the Order 66 Podcast!

Fiddleback, what sort of content are you going to cover on your podcast?

All the rest of the available skills I should imagine. Much as we have been doing. :)

Fiddy is the podcast available an RSS feed? I absolutely deplore iTunes and I'd rather avoid using it, but I'd still like to download it via the audio software I use and transfer it to my phone to listen to later.

I will miss the segment (new segments, rather than recycled) as part of my regular O66 lineup, but to get it on a straight feed will be worth the change.

Thank you sir!

Where do you get the art?? It's consistently hilarious :)

Google Image Search is a remarkable service. Pick a word, add monkey, and hit search and you can generally find something. :)

Now that you are on your own, with presumably more time to devote to the segment, would it be possible to talk about how you could potentially mix good and bad results in one roll? Success with disadvantage, TRIUMPH!!, but failing, but with advantage...etc??

best one yet!

I can't wait to give this one a listen. I've been getting caught up on all the back episodes. I will say that the quirky little music gets a little ear-wormy when you listen to several episodes in a row. That's not a complaint - just an observation!

Thanks for your great work. Loving it.

They may take our lives, but they will never take... OUR BANANAS!!!

...

Yeah, doesn't really have the same oomph as the original line *shrugs* Guess I'm not cut out for this monkey business :D
