Force rating?

By kaelith, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

I can't seem to find anything actually describing force rating. Force sensitive talent tree gives you one to start with, and an extra at the end, for a total of two. But it says that you may already have a force rating before becoming force sensitive. Force rating is not listed under species as a trait, nor did I find it in the force section. The index only lists force rating as a talent. There also does not seem to be a force rating section on the character sheet. Did I miss something? Is force rating only ever 2, and they left in the optional extra force rating statement by accident or for later expansions?

Right now you can only get a FR of 2 (by selecting the FSE spec and then getting the talent) but they have left things open to fit with future books.

Makes sense. And that's balanced for this system pretty well. Four maximum force points on rolls keeps it from being ridiculous, and that means you can't have all 3 powers ongoing at the same time.

How does one become an fse do you just buy a skill from the tree?

To get the FSE spec you just buy the specialization. Since it is a universal specialization it cost the same as a new career specialization (i.e. 10 x the number of specs you would have with the new one added in).

After that then you can buy the individual talents.

Do you have the book, A1istor? That's the easiest way to get the answer.

I do but its confusing to me. Sorry -_-'

Sorry, tried to edit, but my phone is having troubles... what I want to add is that it's in the section on the Force.

No i see the section I just don't understand on how to build an fse. Just buy a point in it write it down costing 10 exp?? the max lvl being 6?

Quoted since it seemed to be missed.

See fjw70's post earlier...

Ninja'd...

Sorry I got confused thinking that you were able to lvl it alone. not per specialization.

Currently the FR can only be raised in two ways right now. Buying the FSE spec gives you a FR of 1 and then the tree has a talent that you can take to raise the FR to 2. Future books should have ways to raise it more and alternate ways to get the FR of 1.
