How we play games

By Bonecrusher, in Anima: Beyond Fantasy RPG

how do we play the game anima beyond fantasy and other games please tell me i just joined im really new

Well a good start is getting hold of the Anima: Beyond Fantasy core rulebook and reading it cover to cover.

I agree with Black-Fox. After doing that, I would suggest reading through it one more time for Character Creation information while you have a Character Sheet with you. As a final touch, I would take notes and/or use sticky notes to mark ALL of the major sections so you can get to them quickly. Finally, make sure to look on the forum for anything that you are confused about, or post a new topic if your questions can't be answered by pre-existing topics.

well ok but them what

how do i play the game

Using the character sheets, dice, rules, and creative imagination.

The rule book will teach you how to play the game. And just in case, you do realise that Anima: Beyond Fantasy is a Pen & Paper Table Top Roleplaying game right? It isnt a video/electronic game.

I would not recommend Anima as your first RPG.

I'd recommend a simple game. Perhaps Legend of the Flame Princess which is essentially Basic D&D. The rules are free to download, and there is a free (albiet mature) adventure available for it. (Your local game store probably has it in brown bags out back.)

If you need something deeper, I'd go with Pathfinder, and buy an adventure path to see what its all about. I like Pathfinder primarily because of the quality of the premade adventures. (Look up the Kingmaker adventure path.)

Anima is harder to learn since there is relatively little premade material for it. There is the example adventure in the GM Toolkit and that is it.

I myself am about to start Game Mastering my first series of adventures. This will be more work, as I have to generate adventures and creatures from scratch, and engage my players. I'm looking forward to Anima because of its emphasis on role playing, and amazing action when it happens. But its more work to achieve.
