Since FFG has a tendency to drop the new FAQ on a Thursday, I figured I would start a poll for when people think the pre-GenCon one will drop. Place your votes below:

A) July 18th- 4 weeks before GenCon. This gives players plenty of time to know what the settled cardpool will be for building decks

B) July 25th- Last Thursday before August, the month of GenCon

C) Aug 1st- 2 weeks ahead of the tournament and the first day of August

D) Aug 8th- FFG likes to drop things at the last minute

There are still international regionals to be played by that point, so I wouldn't count on it. I believe an updated FAQ was released 2 weeks before World's, so maybe that can be used as a precedent.

Since hiring the organized play associate, we haven't had any FAQs dropping the week before a season. I don't think we'll see D. I'd love for A, but I just don't see much chance of that happening that early. Worlds was a minor update last year, and most people are expecting fairly big changes given the way regionals season has played out. That said, I do think C edges out B as the more likely option.

Well, so much for option A. I think FFG is making a big mistake if they don't release a new FAQ before GenCon. TLV, Negotiations, Greyjoy and Targ all need to take a hit in some form, and several rules questions need to be addressed (Jaqen, Blood Magic Ritual, etc.).
