Looks like FFG is REALLY looking to support this line. Thank the Gods!
Can't wait for additional career supplements!
Yeah, having read that, there is some pretty major stuff there. I am really curious about those elite abilities.
A supplement dedicated to one career? That's going to be a whole lot of supplements for "basic" stuff eventually. I'm not sure if that's a good thing.
Looks awsome! But it truly looks a bit too much :/ one supplement for each of the careers is way too much I think.
Then again if it's quality follows i'll second this system.
Looks like a Chiss on the cover, which shows some promise for new species as well.
I think Career specific supplements are actually a pretty good idea. It seems intended for players who have specifically made those characters.
The GM who wants to own everything might weep for their wallet though.
Well, there goes the fear that the line won't be supported. We can expect at least 5 more of these (although if they keep the release at one book per quarter it will be a long while for all the professions to be fleshed out).

That would be my case
I challenged myself with having every single book of one RPG game. And Star Wars came along at that point.
Interesting... Chiss on cover but no mention of additional player races...
As long as the focus is on Exploration rather than just Explorers, then I think it will be a great supplement. Having universal applicability with some new material for one career will keep people buying books.
I'm hoping the Smuggler one is next.
Any thoughts on cost?
Before reading it the cover made me think we might be getting a new race and I dropped my bamboo.
I love this game and what they are doing. Most of all I love the artwork they are producing. I am hoping for an artbook release in the foreseeable future.
Ow, my wallet.

I don't understand the worries. I mean, what else did you want them to do? Either they focus on each Career/aspect of the game individually, and we get a lot of deeper information..or they pack a bunch of stuff together and we pay more at once/get less.
I am psyched to see how they expand things with the Colonist book, for instance.
As long as the quality is solid (which, so far, I have zero doubts about), then I don't see the problem. The game is complete without them, and if you as a GM don't want it, you can leave it up to a player to get. If you're a player, and never plan to GM, then you only really need to get the books you're interested in--no need to pick up the Colonist book if you don't care about politics and such.
But personally, I can see Smugglers wanting the Driver spec, Bounty Hunters liking Big Game Hunter, and Colonists liking Archaeologist. And we get vehicles and more stuff to generate wild adventures with? Sign me up.
But really, anyone who isn't excited to now be able to make Indiana Jones a Star Wars character can just leave right now.
Perhaps the Chiss on the cover is in anticipation of future Species rules.
I wouldn't be surprised to see Chiss as a Species for Age of Rebellion. That seems like the appropriate book for them.
nice, lets hope for more races and a new adventure.
Not sure I'd read too much into what's in the cover art. Probably it's just a cool picture that fits the theme. I imagine if a new species was involbed, there would have been a mention made of it, as that's a pretty big selling point.
Just an assumption, of course.

Chances are though that we'll see at least one more article on the book before it comes out, so they might be saving it for then.
Yeah, new species would be awesome, but I'm hoping for adventure/campaign area more fleshed out. Sectors, planets, whatever, more places
Also looking forward to the new gear and stuff - also this is almost what I was hoping they'd do, its just even more focused on career than I was hoping.

I would think a book on exploration would be more approprate since they are from "Unknown Regions"
I have a feeling they are going to hammer out the other major races in the main books. What we might think of Majors is stuff we have seen in corebooks before and perhaps races in some of the MMO video games. These will probably be the ones fleshed out in the corebooks... Stuff like Mon Calimari in AoR... Stuff like Togruta in DotF. I am certain at some point, there will be a book of JUST races to fill in all the random bits.
I'd be all over this... even if I wasn't initially keen on the Explorer option. Seeing additional specializations is always welcome, and if this is how the game will be developed, the options for character development are going to be extremely diverse. Even if I am not planning on being an explorer, there's going to be lots of info in this that is going to be very helpful.
I really like what I am seeing so far.
Ow, my wallet.
Too many things to buy and read!!

But the most famous Chiss was Thrawn, who was a Grand Admiral of the Empire, which is why I say Age of Rebellion would make sense.
I also feel all the Species are going to be in the Core books, but I could be wrong.
