on anonother note, a origins of the force book would be cool, like how the first people found the force at the core worlds, pre republic stuff, but that's just ,e

Such a book was just released. It's about how the Jed'aii (or some such) discovered the Force on Tython

BTW, is Fate of the Jedi where Ben (or someone) finds "Ship"? If so, i've only read the first 2 of those.

1) You know what this is called? Or is it the "into the void" or whatever its called?

2) I think that happened on Ziost in Legacy of the Force series, in which Jacen became a cleaning utensil.

Ship does appear in FotJ, has a major role in some of the books.

Of course Gallandro, one wonders how truthful Palpatine was being ... but more importantly, George Lucas has stated (for instance on the dvd commentary) that Anakin truly was the chosen one, and that even when he became Darth Vader, he remained the chosen one. It was by destroying the Emperor and himself that he fulfilled the prophecy and brought balance to the Force.

I love talking about "The Prophecy". "A prophecy, which, mis-read, could have been..."

Anakin was, is, and dies as the Chosen One. But what does "bringing balance to the Force" mean? That's the angle few think about. I think that Anakin's actions throughout his entire life brought balance to the Force.

I am gonna have to go with Chris on this. When Yoda says "Failed I have" at the end... I think that is MUCH deeper than people think on the surface. He is talking about his entire time as the head of the Jedi council. I think he realizes that he has blinded the order to the dark side and allowed it to fester in the corner and ultimate do what the entire Sith Empire was not able to do... bring down the republic.

Yes, it's Dawn of the Jedi: Into the Void

I did read Legacy of the force in its entirety, and I've only started on the one after that. Where Ben and Luke go off together on a journey of sorts (i'm being vague because of spoilers).

The one after is Fate of the Jedi... and while I did enjoy the read, as much as I enjoy washing myself with a cheese-grater. Don't take it wrong, it's pretty cool, until [spoiler alert!] what I mentioned above, perhaps I should have warned about it then, but I just couldn't be bothered... the books are cool, until Abeloth... after that it is not just a slow downward spin to mediocrity, it rather plummets down to KJ Anderson levels, and beneath even that.

EDIT: Would you recommend Into the Void? I'm kinda interested, but thinking about waiting for the paperback.

I have not read into the void, so I can't recommend it one way or the other. However, I've been tossing around the idea of trying to write something myself (probably couldn't do a novel, but maybe a short story) about this very concept (Jedi (or pre-jedi) discovering the Force on Tython), but then I saw this novel and just gave that idea up lol. I'll probably just read this one instead.

I read some of those comics...I had higher hopes, because Ostrander has some good stuff out there, but it's really dumb. The whole thing starts with some cubes coming to visit planets and all the Force users going on board like Noah's Ark, then they're all taken to one planet. No explanation of the stupid cubes, or why everybody just went along with it. Pathetic.

Nononono!!! Mysterious!

hmm...what i'm referring to is a novel (maybe adapted from the comics? Dunno). Didn't seem like it had that sort of story, but I only read the cover summery.

I read it, without having read the comics at all. It was interesting. I enjoyed seeing all the stuff about ancient Tython and pre-hyperspace flight and society with the Je'daii. And the order itself was interesting. But, the main character was really flat, and only two things that happened in the entire book caught me off guard. And one of those things didn't matter at all. The plot is pretty see-through as well. But, reading about the worlds and societies was cool, at least.

Paperback it is then.
