hi i was wondering how many mark in there book for reference or to know what to look up. Please let me know. if that is a good idea.
Do you Mark in your book
I never write in any book, not even in college.
okay i will not mark in my books. i will just write in my notebook.
I'm still on honeymoon with my book, and with this particular one I most likely will be for a long time so no permanent marks. I use index cards as bookmarks.
Sora23 have you considered post-it notes?
As I've got two copies, I'll keep one in fairly pristine condition, while I'll likely add sticky notes to the other copy with any updated rules info/errata that comes along.
I use these, they are amazing
You can write on the tabs with a small sharpie and habing different colours makes things a lot less confusing that normal post-its, they also look a lot neater

i will considered the post -it notes. thanks
I will have two copies, but I still find it hard to write in books. Strangely enough, I used to write all over them in highschool, even adding my own artwork to my AD&D 2nd edition PHB, but I stopped once I needed a job to buy books instead of an allowance from the parents.
I hve little magnetic bookmarks that clip on to pages that I use now.

Same here. You can get them in most office supply stores.
Just my initials on an inside front cover to determine which one is mine. It may not matter now, but after a few years of hard use it really helps.
I annotate my book. It's a hefty 440+ pages and I want to remember some of the more important points buried in paragraph.
These are very handy:

TL;DR transparent sticky notes made for annotating books, and specially designed not to damage them with their glue. Great for errata!
I've never marked my books. I can't say the same for my dog.
I use index tabs those are good if you use them in color schemed by theme or function. In addition I usually take a copy of index and glossary so if I need to check something during a game I can give those to players and say find me a page while I make us some coffee or do some single player RP.
Never seen those transparent post-its before I really hope our local bookstore has those.

Serously, I've never mark my rolebooks too, they are full of papers.
Marking books?
Marking books?
WHY WOULD YOU WANT TO DO SUCH A TERRIBLE THING?!?
I use tabs for each chapter for a quicker look-up.
I appreciate all of you telling me not to mark in my book. so i went out last night and pick up post it notes and tabs.
