I read a game write-up for a scene involving one of the iconic characters, the example slips my memory, and they used the example to showcase how the rules and the dice could be used to enact the movies. That isn't exactly what I'd want from official stat blocks but, for example, just how much of a bad ass IS Boba Fett? Is he based on the movies or the comics, where he fires 3 shots and disarms 3 guys in one pass. Did he Triumph on his 6 proficiency blaster light 3 times? Just little things like that make me wonder what they're stats are "Officially." Whether I'd ever use them or not remains to be seen. Vader is just too BAMF for me to throw at any group really.
I would like to see cannon character stats soon
Officially,,,,Black Sun = Cannon organization. Xisor is mentioned and Guri as the leaders of said cannon organization. If there is a cannon organization, I want to see the cannon character stats of the leaders of this organization. If there is an issue doing this, then do not use cannon organizations as presented. You only get half the picture. IMO.
In my opinion, you cannot have it one way but not the other. Those of you that do not want cannon stats of characters fine, however do not use cannon organizations. Create your own organizations as well then.

There's a significant difference between wanting stats of a leader in Black Sun and the stats of Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker. Apples and oranges kind of difference.
Plus, some people, like myself might be planning to convert d6/d20 adventures to use in EotE. And many of them have iconic characters in them at some capacity.

Sure you can. There's no law that says you must stat them up. Many times games will leave figureheads like that purposely unstatted so that people can ceate whatever version works best for them, rather than have something that gets picked apart by unsatisfied players. This way you can use them as much or as little as you want and no one can say you're doing it wrong.
In fact, there would be a great opportunity for an interesting thread where we, the community, stat up characters from the movies and EU. Different takes of the same characters could be helpful for those looking to use them.
Edited by mouthymercPlus, even if you are going to be dealing with Black Sun, etc... why the hell would the likes of Xisor and Guri be dealing with lackey-level smugglers and bounty hunters, rather than their lieutenants and local planetary bosses?

No there really isn't Xisor was also a major character and Guri was still around even after Return of the Jedi. A huge crime syndicate like Black Sun, please..

Thats like saying why would a farmboy like luke skywalker eventually go after the Darklord of the Sith.
Because of plot conceits, Drathen. Xisor and Guri do not deal with every single contracted smuggler Black Sun take on for work, because doing so would be a waste of their time - that is why they have underlings. In terms of a criminal organisation, they don't work like that.

Maybe in your games, However I am sure there are other players that might see that differently as well. I for one would have them in the game eventually since Black Sun is mentioned so much in the game already.
Hi people!
Well, my vision about canonical characters in role playgames is that they have to got stats, this way you make happy people who wants them, people who wants a reference and change and adapt them, and people who doesn't what them because they only ignore them XD
From my point of view stats are useful to see because this way we can know how people from FFG understand the world and adapt famous characters, to know about how they understand mechanics about its own game describing the mainly cinematic scenes.
Don't missunderstand me, I'm a cinematic lover, if I need a cool scene where Vader kills a rancor only looking at it, it will happen without caring if he can do it or not, but I would want a reference and, personally, I think that stats are the fair option because people who don't want it can still ignore them, and the other ones can adapt or follow the stats.
Take care people!

Just my 2 cents
Hi there,
I've thrown together a stat block for Guri as im using her in an up coming game (a huge surprise to my PCs when a seemingly distraught and weak woman becomes a super nimble killing machine!) Power of over 1200. Based on an almost cybernetic human (easier than messing about with a droid, given everything i read about her character online)
Its a SW GM Tools fiune, hope it works, if not i can send the picture version.
Let me know what you think.

It's part of the prophecy... the prophecy of the chosen one that shall bring balance to the SECOND EDITION!

This is a joke right? There's no chatter (official or otherwise) of a second edition, is there? Stuff is so crazy lately it's hard to tell what's humor and whats not.

Everything I say is humor, even when it's not. Just because you haven't heard the chatter is no reason to deny it. Search your feelings; you know it to be true.
Minor characters could do with stats, but people like Vader or Palp are beyond anything most PCs should be capable of hurting. Unless you are dealing with 5 digit XP PCs.

Yet we already have stats for Vader and the Death Star. It's a little late to try and claim a ceiling for power level.

The first rule of Second Edition is you don't talk about Second Edition.

Yup. The Black Sun sure has a lot of cannons. That's canon for you! Lot's of ships with lot's of cannons! It's in the canon section of Wookieepedia. ? ? ? ? ? ?
I just had to do it... forgive me...

There are plenty of stats listed for cannons, although I don't know why you'd want to make a character out of it.
