Cheers, TUZ :D

‘The Vigil-class Corvette is a heavy corvette for escort, reconnaissance, and utility duties of the Galactic Empire. Often classified as a frigate, the Vigil-class is designed for patrol and escort duty.’
‘An extensive radar array is used to intercept signals and triangulate enemy positions. Double laser turrets with fast track targeting are installed on both the dorsal and ventral hulls. A small hanger on the ventral hull could house up to sixteen star fighters Normal deployment was a mixed squadron of recon, light bomber, and Interceptor fighters. Two tractor beam projectors are used to capture smaller ships for boarding. A small company of storm troopers act as both security for the Vigil-class Corvette and assault troops when boarding captured vessels.’

‘Many of these Vigil-class Corvettes were used by the Imperial Security Bureau as heavy transports for ISB Officers. These ships also served as command vessels for Sector Police and assisted in operations with customs enforcement.’

blue imperial cr-90 ftw

I have one of these models as well (yet to be assembled) and plan to leave it Imperial Grey like you. Thanks for the pics to show what it looks like fully assembled and the size next to the other models.

I like it.

The size difference does not matter. Its all point of view. I'd just say its off in the distance.

I use them as the reason if you go off the board that you are in range of the capital ships guns and are obliterated.

I have "only somewhat" mixed feelings. You really can't field a 9' Star Destroyer, I wish I could. And I can't afford nor am I talented enough to build/buy a scale CR-90.

BUT!!!

Mission 1 of the Rules has a double size card for the Senators Shuttle. Hang on a moment... to scale that ship should be 16" long? FFG represents this at a much smaller scale.

So the heck with it; models and miniatures are fun. If I can get a Kenner Blockade Runner that is 6" short, it is still the size the shuttle should be and only 3" shorter than the CR70. If I can get a Micro-machine Republic Shuttle then I'll set it on the FFG card. Even though the model is 12 inches too short (for scale); it is a few inches longer than the card from FFG and not a miniature.

I'd still rather have scale models but I accept that I can't and will field what I think is acceptable. My compromise I do like this though and want to make of of these: http://boardgamegeek.com/filepage/84033/3d-star-destroyer-imperial-cruiser-in-cardboard .

Also see what this guy did: http://boardgamegeek.com/filepage/87220/3d-star-destroyer-built-and-ready-for-action

I'm not that talented but still....

I think the firts link is a very good idea... an "3D Star Destroyer/Imperial Cruiser Battlefield" sound more easy to use than a ship, something like a Death Star or a Echo Base battlefields. :)

I'm working on a Imperial gunship/escort. 15" length hull, still awaiting bitz and pieces so it is very early in development.

I know what you mean, but it's not a Star Destroyer, It's a 9" Corvette ;)
