I just purchased the core book over the weekend from my local store, and wanted to roll up some charecters to get a feel for it all. While obligations are pretty simple to understand, I am trying to figure out what goes in the magnitude and complications heading on the char sheet. I feel silly, but I would hate to assume and be wrong so any help would be wonderful, thank you =)

Magnitude would be the character's total Obligation value after deciding if they want to take on more Obligation for extra starting XP or starting credits.

So if you've got 4 players (starting Obligation of 10), and one of them decides to take an extra 10 Obligation, his Magnitude would be 20. If another player decided they were happy with the base XP and credits, then that player would have a Magnitude of 10 for his Obligation.

As for Complications... I figure that's a good space to put a few background notes detailing the Obligation. Who is the PC in debt to? Why is there a bounty on their head? What sort of betrayal did they suffer? So on and so forth.
