Needs for a Descent V2 assistant application

Hello,

I will begin to develop a version of the descent Assistant application.

FFG: What is the restrictions to avoid the suspension of my application (like for Mansion of Madness)

- i know to not reuse real images or scan

- what else ?

Players: What is your needs for this new application version, and for those who used the V1 application, what was missing for you

I presently use the Descent dice Android application.

I don't feel an urge to have more than it,

However, what could be nice, would be a way to record the state of a current campaign (heroes, gear, gold, XPs, quests won, etc.) to help setting the next quest (or encounter, if we had to interrupt play in the middle of a quest) up.

If it could hold on a smartphone - and not only on a tablet or laptop - all the best (but this would perhaps be asking too much ). :rolleyes:

Is this available for iPhone? I am be very interested in beta testing for it!

Like Robin, I think I would love a paperless way of keep track of the basic needs of a campaign record keeping. EXP for both heroes and OL, gold for heroes, quests and who won them . Maybe a list of OL cards and the ability to add cards in as the OL gains them. It would help with planing for me, but I know that might be pushing it for an app.

All of this information would be great for records on FFG research team. We could really see how balanced the game is from there >D!

A place for notes would be awesome as well. As the OL, I track how many search tokens are reveled in each quest along with how many times each side misses (the heroes often feel they miss more then the OL. They just seem to attack more and their turns are longer. Though sometimes the dice lean to one side over another, I find the number is often really close to equal. The test has been enlightening). Highlights would be nice to keep record of as well, but I end up drawing those anyhow. I am sure this would be helpful so that different people could keep record of what they want.

No iPhone for now. May be later, but it is not sure as the iOS development is not as nice as coding in Java.

My next feature will be the campagne, track, then after that i will release the App to public, see feedback and then add many more features if needed or requested.

The current version allow to:

- look all monsters (filter by Trait)

- look all heros (filter by Archetype)

- look all Lieutenant

- Create Game session

- add monster/lieutenant/hero to a game session

- add notes and photos to heroes

- add/remove Health/Stamina/Condition to monster/lieutenant/hero

That sounds awesome. When it moves to iphone, please updates us. I know I can put that to hard core use. Thank you! We needed something like this!

i've got no Iphone nor android, and nothing that looks like the same

Having it for the PC isn't a half bad idea. One could, presumably, put it directly onto the PC if they don't have a smart phone. Those with iPhones could then punch it in via web browser.

Descent V2 Assistant V1.1.4

I think i will sent the application to public (release) very soon.

- Xp, photos et notes of the overlord

Sadly I don't have an Android device, so I am hoping for a Iphone/Ipad based version of this as well.

But mostly I just wanted to say that I think this is an incredible effort and a really amazing job on designing this, Amphiprion.

So keep up the great work! And I'll keep dreaming about that iphone app ;) .

Aww! that's sad! I picked out the guy that does the voices the best, and most of them are silly. He makes it fun!

Just downloaded it, i`m very excited...although there is still some work to do.

Maybe you could add pictures of painted Miniatures. If that is legal.

Good news, i will remove the App before Monday 16th September.

1) FFG do not respond to my question about what accepted in this thread

2) The is several WIKI about Descent with all card scan and FFG seams ok with that (me i have made the effort to use no official images)

3) As soon as my application is published, il receive a mail from FFG to command me to remove the App before 16th september.

I find their way to behave very awfull... And finely that tell me that they appreciate the work of fans ! You're kidding!!!!

Did you get a letter to cease and desist? Maybe they are working on one they are going to charge for.

They blocked my Mansion of Madness assistant several month ago, and there is no FFG application incoming. I think they block our work only for copyright purpose, without looking the benefit for their games to have fan made assistants.
