Episode 13 of the Order 66 Podcast (with Steve Horvath) is UP!

By GM Chris, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

The future is now, GamerNation! We celebrate the official launch of the Edge of the Empire Core Rulebook in style with special guest Steve Horvath, SVP of Communications and Digital Production for Fantasy Flight Games.

Steve talks all about the book, answers burning listener questions, and delves into the future of FFG Star Wars products. Truly awesome. To add more presents under the tree, we've got some superb listener questions, a redaction worthy of your listening from Watto, a Vigilant Skill Monkey, and solid Fragments and Transmissions from the Rim.

Loads of awesome… as the appointed hour has finally arrived, and it’s more than we could have hoped.

Thanks for listening, folks!

Peace, Love, and Good Gaming,

GMC

Good show, thanks!

Yeah it was good. But i fell asleep right in the middle. Too late for me i guess (from my GMT+1 timezone).

Your "direct link" shows a flash widget, probably a "feature" of these new boards. Can you post the direct link in plain text?

I've enjoyed the couple of shows I've heard...at the risk of being a jerk, I will say that sometimes I get impatient with a) each segment seems to have way too many intro-musics or lead-ins or whatever; and b) I'm not a fan of the morning-radio hyuk-hyuk style. Between those two things, I wonder if the show couldn't be half as long.

However, when you guys do get to the content, it's very useful. Especially like the Skill Monkey segments, and the Stormtrooper poetry is pretty funny.

As to your other comments - I agree some of the intro beds could be tightened up, but having them there is podcasting 101. Serves as an audio break for both listeners and the hosts, and serves to break up sections neatly. (Keep in mind... we record this show live with little to no editing.)

We've had a handful of listeners over the last 5 years that "just want content". No talkey-talk. We've vacillated over it a good bit, but the majority of listeners whom we've communicated with fall into the opposite camp, and enjoy getting laughs with their content. ;) Not to mention that Dave and I would find that rather... well... boring (and we're selfish that way...). Remember, we record this show live.

Most podcasts are talk-radio for the 21st Century. We do, however, try to limit egregious gum-flapping to post-show discussions, allowing listeners who aren't interested to easily not be subjected to it, LOL.

So I hope we aren't too "Morning Radio" for you. :P And sincerely, thank you (all) for listening!

I listen to the PFT Daily podcast that Pro Football Talk does and after the podcast is over, they put up multiple videos from the 'cast where each one is a specific segment of the show. If there's just one segment I want to hear (about my favorite team, usually), I'll jus listen to that one part.

Maybe that's a solution for people who "just want content."

But I know nothing about podcasting and making videos so maybe that's a lot of work and it's a terrible idea. :)

I know, it comes with the territory, but I can dream, can't I? :)

Anyway, kudos for doing it at all, I feel like a jerk complaining when someone else is being creative.

I loved the podcast guys! Thank you for all your hard work. :)

I did the thing with the Kickstarter stuff. Please keep entertaining and educating me, even though I never listen to the Order 66 Podcast. Thanks, folks.

Thank YOU.

Kickstarter stuff? Details?

@GM Chris

So glad I saw this post so I could jump on the Kickstarter and the free goodies. Never would have known otherwise since "I never listen to the Order 66 podcast"

All kidding aside, I've been listening to you and GM Dave since Episode 1 of Saga. The show keeps getting better and better!

Great show. Keep up the great work.
