Since I've already got one Millennium Falcon, I wanted a newer, cleaner YT-1300 to represent an Outer Rim Smuggler. I didn't want to start from scratch, just add and subtract here and there.

Edit: Got the pic to work.

Edited by RealGeniusThat's pretty nice. Did you use a putty or did you cut plasticard? How'd you do it?
A combination of both, the open panels were covered with plasticard and some of the damage was covered with greenstuff. I also sculpted in some pipes on one panel for a little more detail.

I blogged a few more details if you're interested: http://www.flylords.net/2013/07/x-wing-modified-yt-1300-outer-rim.html
Nicely done, the other smugglers' ships should look different!
Excellent conversion, I like that you kept a worn and not factory fresh look to the rebuild!
I think my third YT-1300 will be the factory fresh look, for a little variety.
Looks great, excellent job.
I really love how you covered up the open bays. I'd make one other suggestion for #3: different guns. Something... more anemic-looking.
I painted my second YT as the Stellar Envoy, trimming most of the piping off the hull and filling in the damage. I also removed the lower quad gun and cut the top half of the top mount off, making it a dual.

The picture makes it look a lot yellower than it really is.
You need a little oil wash on there to dirty it up a bit. I do like the cleaner look, I think my third will trim off all the outer pipes and fill for a really smooth look. I also want to do something with the engines, but not sure what yet.
I love these custom looking ships. I'd like to try, but don't want to mess up such a nice looking model.
