online game anyone?

By 5sola, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

I will be getting my core book in a few days and would love to play a few sessions as a player before trying to learn the rules before introducing my group to FFG's Star Wars. Does anyone plan on running a game online? Maybe just once every two weeks if a weekly game is too much.

any thoughts?

I too would like to get involved in an online game. I'd rather play in it though because I'll be running for my local troupe. BUT if you don't find anyone to run it for you then I'll take a stab at it. I have another player or two that may be interested in playing online as well if need be.

I'd be interested as a player as well

I'd be interested as a player too.

Then again I have weak counting tales.

I know I'd be interested, since I've only ever run the game (though I am tempted to do that again!).

I only get to run games with my local group (players rarely want to step up to the plate) so doing stuff online is the only time I get to play something. :-) I would love to play in this enough to cement the rules before trying to introduce my group to it.

Millandson, do you want to take up the GM role? and if so how often are you thinking? Are we to the point of figuring out availabilities?

I'm probably in flux a bit too much to be able to guarantee anything, sorry - currently looking for a new job, and might have to move to get one, and that, plus the likelihood of people here being all over the globe (I'm in the UK myself) would make it a nightmare to deal with at present.

Otherwise, yea, I'd be interested, and if I can, I'll make sure to say so!

I too am interested. Please keep me posted.

I completely understand. Real life takes priority.

Also I want to be clear on my end, I would only be able to play about twice a month and Friday is not possible. I already have an online group that plays on Friday nights. We are in the middle of some long campaigns or I would introduce this to them :-)

I am also not necessarily interested in an extended campaign (i am not against it) but something more of a session or two short adventure to get comfortable with the rules. Something short term might be easier to commit too.

No Pressure Millandson. I can only imagine trying to coordinate a game internationally would be difficult. Just getting a good time for our Friday night was difficult and we were only dealing with 4 timezones. :-)

My last one had 4 time zones...

GMT, Eastern Standard Time, Pacific Standard Time, and Australian Eastern Standard Time.

That was interesting.

That would be interesting, I'd be interested in playing as well, I'm almost always the GM whatever game we play. Eastern Standard Time for me.

GMT +1 France for me.

I can play anytime on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and every evening of everyday of the week (french time of course).

i usually am available 5pm pst except wednesdays and fridays so if anyone wants a experienced player i would love to be part of it.

I would love to play. PST time zone will let you know when i'm not open.

From the other thread:

I'm potentially thinking of running a game, but it'd likely be done through Roll20/Google Hangouts, or Skype with one of those for the dice rollers. It also wouldn't be voice-based, it'd be type-based.

I'm also at British Summer Time (GMT+1), so you'd have to take that into account. If I did run it, it'd probably be on a Saturday, from 7-8pm BST.

Would anyone be interested in that? I'll post again if I did do it.

My Skype is MILLANDSON, so just add me and chat if you're interested.

I would also be interested in learning with a group. I'm on the East Coast as well. Monday nights are usually pretty clear for me.

I plan on running a game on roleplayinggames.net when my rulebook arrives.

I would love to join in that if you have some openings. I just want to get some game time in.

I wouldn't mind running a game. I have no idea how to.

I mean I know how to use a virtual tabletop, but how do you do dice rolls with the custom dice.

Google Hangouts+ has a star wars ETOE dice roller app

I have no idea how to use Google Hangouts+ I've used roll20

Have any groups been formed 5sola?

just go to google. and search for hangout plus (or hangout+) I think there is a small app download, it has been over a year that I have been playing a weekly game there so I forget how I started. :-) It is a 'plug and play' type of thing so not really any kind of setup.

Not that I know of. I think everyone has primarily wanted to play and not run. A lot of times have been thrown out but I havent seen any groups develop yet.

I cant run any games just yet. I am running a local group and dont have any more time to prep. Plus I have only played the beginner game so I still dont know the rules well enough. I am available to play. I am not even looking for a long commitment... though it may turn into that :-) I want to learn the system and play with a group that is bigger than the 2 players I have here. If we can find someone to run it maybe it will work out.

My availability is Sunday to Thursday anytime after 6pm CST. (Sunday I could do any time during the day.) In mid August my saturday night will open up too.
