So the idea is simple really. you have a start threat of 20 so you need a good set up hand that uses the secrecy here as next turn it is gone. so mulligan for resourceful or timely aid.

even though you start on the threshold of secrecy, that doesnt mean you only have 1 round using it- elronds counsel will get your threat down for 0 cost whilst questing, and galadrims is there for when it gets higher.

you need to therefore get light of valinor out pretty quickly if you intend to quest with glorfindel

i have included only 1 copy of the unique elf allies, this is for theme reasons really

resources are plentiful in this deck...i have never had a problem, as the resourceful card is excellent. you can stack them or keep the seperated. therefore all these expensive allies are no problem, and are great for timely aid.

Nice deck, Rich. I've tried many times to make a successful secrecy deck, but to no avail. Do you play this one solo? Or do you have another deck that you pair it with? Because whenever I've made a secrecy deck, I have to have it paired with a deck that can take all the enemies to make the best of the Secrecy keyword...

i have tried both, however mainly solo. it is certainly not a super fighting deck...it wouldnt fare very well against the likes of a battle or siege situation.

surprisingly though it has fared pretty well against those 'balanced' quests such as most of the moria ones and hfg.

i think its because you can pretty much pick which enemies to engage and when, and then you could for instance swap in o elbereth gilthoniel to send the out of play. or use a mirkwood runner if they are weak like goblins

for tougher enemies you still have choices though they need some preparation. i think the strength of the deck is having a lot of resources and getting allies in play at low threat.

the key here is though the start hand...if you dont have a decent start hand this deck will not have a good chance of winning

I hope secrecy gets more cards. I think this is a great idea for a keyword and it would be a shame for it to nvr be developed. I would add sneak attack gandalf, this can really help secrecy in tandem with greeting / tomb

after some tweaking, addition of sneak attack, take out the wanderer and hasty stroke for faramir and loriens wealth....me and a friend took this deck against stewards fear and killed it...... - 3 score on the old system! (we didnt know the rounds)

just seeing the some of the cards in the deck, this is one of the few places where the seemingly maligned Harbor Master could be useful. With only one copy of resourceful he can become a 3 DEF thru the attachment, Theodred, and Bifur's power. Then again, with secrecy you really dont need a stud defender but still an option

yeah we were talking about adding her (him?). we had resourceful x 3 steward, bifur....but there are some many allies in this game its incredibly fast and as you say you dont need to often engage really bad enemies

?? HM is a awesome card. Do not be fooled.. it is super powerful.

he can become superpowerful no doubt, but i think my hesitation with him is that it requires a lot of cards to make him so...and the style of deck likely wont require a stud defender anyway assuming its a secrecy deck running multiple copies of resourceful

then again, i have not attempted to use the harbor master personally, so forgive my ignorance if you've found an efficient way to utilize it...which i would enjoy hearing

well it is all about deck functionality. ALL decks have resource gain, or at least should. So he goes into any deck as a cheap 2 attack.. that alone makes him interesting.. but in most deck it will always have +1def, as all decks have resource gain. There are so many ways to add resources now, it is easy to buff this guy for the round. The Gloin Engine works great, Steward will only add 1, 3x resourceful adds 3 defense. OkenShield means he is always +1, Bifur is +1 defense at will in a 4 player game that is +4. Plus there is a bunch of add resource events and attachment.. like mirivour is a good one as you can add the +defense as a reaction. So in any normal deck getting +1 a turn is normal. But in a correctly built deck you are looking at +3 a turn easy.. maybe even 6+ if you really build this idea.

for a 3 cost? That is boss.
