I was wrong. Sort of.

I will say that I am annoyed they couldn't give us one mega corerulebook. I feel they still could have done that. Not to mention their ambivalence on other era's of play. I am not conceding this is better than Saga, just that it isn't a complete waste of time and money.

I'm sorry.

That takes a lot of class to post that. Kudos, sir. I'm with you in being, at first glance, distanced by the dice and lack of Jedi. But I gave the Beginner Set a chance and...WOW! I'll hopefully have my books and all soon. :)

Well you know, being as awesome as I am it's only a few times a year I'm wrong. So I feel I can take one for the team. Now onwards to try and find out when my city will get it, or if I should just go and order it online.

I dunno, given that the Edge book alone is nearly 500 pages and could stop a bullet, I'm not sure they could have made One Book to Rule Them All, so to speak.

Besides, from a publishing perspective, one year between major book releases is not all that long. And given the high quality set by this first book, I'll gladly wait a while to have an epic set of super high-end Star Wars books instead of one kinda-okay one that was rushed out with more haste.

That is quite a book. That art. I'll admin the art is what got me to take a second look. Need to look at it all day.

When looking at the heart I also got very exited.

Especially during the video, god **** why do i live in Europe? I have to wait a bit more :( sad face

A what. If memory serves right when I visited local gaming store wednesday it was on the shelf. I didn't buy it (bought Enemies of the Imperium) then but admired its illustrations. And I live in Finland. So what the f*** (sorry the strong language), is there some warp portal they use to deliver those thing here but not anywhere else.

****, I ransacked half of Paris and couldn't find any of it. God **** it, i'll order it on the FFG store when available (today?).

My local FLGS in Peterborough UK got them in on the third, picked up a core book yesterday. I pre-ordered from Coolstuffinc as well, and that should be here early next week. Europe got them really fast from what I hear.

Funny thing. It still says in "Upcoming" page that EotE is still shipping. This is almost like how signoftheserpent was pissed over how he couldn't find Tome of Excess in UK.

Kudos and happy hunting!

Amazon.co.uk (Europe and the UK I believe  ) sent my order on wednesday I think, so I'll have it over the weekend since it has to cross a small sea to get here and shipping was free and slow. They won't be sending the dice before saturday though, which I find odd.

Picked mine up from a Game shop in Wrexham, Wales, Uk on Tuesday and they have some on the shelves, or did on tuesday

**** work taking up all my time I'm only 20 pages in after nearly 4 days

At least you have it.

yeah, what he said. I'm on holiday til the end of next week so won't be getting my copy til then... *sobs as only a deprived RPGer can*

Got mine yesterday (Canada), great art, but I haven't had time to check it out much yet.

After a mighty 4hours quest in Paris, and in the all shops (6 of em) I visited. I finally managed to find my Rulebook, die and GM kit. Just got home, and juste started the rulebook and minor die tests.

My FLGS has two, and the gm kit and dice. On my way out soon to pick them up, they are holding for me.

Welcome to the fold. Bwahahaha!!

I got there and had the last one. Since they got their shipment two days ago all of their shipment (6) sold out.

I had them set aside one for me. Turns out I didn't need to, since I showed up while the boxes were being unpacked. (Unusually good timing for me.)

I don't mind not having a mega rulebook. There's a lot of stuff that can be packed in, and getting too universal with the book will only lead to people demanding more. "You included The Clone Wars! Why couldn't you also include The Old Republic!?" But at the same time, I think they made a very serious mistake with the focus of the initial release. The initial trilogy isn't about smugglers and Jabba the Hutt. Jabba shows up, but he's a sideshow. He's a momentary distraction for the protagonists. The *real* story is about the Rebellion. And Edge of Empire almost completely ignores that. Even the ubiquitious X-Wing is missing. I understand why they didn't include it (because the X-Wing is used exclusively by the Alliance, unlike the Y-Wing, which *is* in the book, and this book barely mentions the Rebellion), but that doesn't make its absence any less absurd from a customer expectations standpoint. Say "Star Wars in the original trilogy era", and the first thing that comes to mind for most people is "Rebels versus the Empire!" It's a fairly stark black and white picture (ignoring a few novels that show ever so slightly positive views of some of the Imperials). But instead the book offers smugglers and Jabba and lots of grey. There's even a "Support the Empire!" motivation that a PC can get by randomly rolling on the motivation table, and you're just as likely to randomly end up with that as you are to get the "Support the Rebellion!" motivation.
