Imperial Customs ship Counterpuncher and Concept Awings

By TRamsey, in X-Wing

Awesome! From the WEG Tramp Freighters Galaxy Guide right? Jealous!

Awesome! In RPGing, players encounter Imperial customs frigates quite frequently, yet we have yet to see these ships in Star Wars comics, cartoons, or movies.

I'm hoping FFG will release an Imperial Customs Frigate in the near future.

Fantastic job, but unless I'm mistaken, you've modeled Tor Skylow' modified Customs Frigate, not the standard Imperial version which looks quite a bit different. The "stock" customs frigate has two long booms on the bow and a vastly different engine section. Its actually kind of hard to see how the modified version relates to the original. Not to take anything away from what you've done, it really looks great. I'm quite jealous.

You're thinking of the Imperial Customs light corvette as seen here:

He's captured the Imperial Customs Frigate (the Counter-Puncher) perfectly:

I'm desperately hoping that FFG does one of these for us RPGers. For the Emperor's sake, it is one of the most common RPG space encounters and always gets the players arguing whether to bluff, bribe, or shoot their way out of it.

I know he captured the Counter Puncher perfectly. I wish I had his skill. I guess I had always thought that the Counter Puncher was a modified Light Corvette because Tor Skylow's description mentions she changed the appearance of the ship so it wouldn't be recognizable as an Imperial ship. I assumed that meant it was originally a light corvette, since that was the Imperial ship described earlier in GG6 and there are some similarities in the cockpit. But in looking at it now, it does say the Puncher is a modified light frigate as opposed to a corvette, so I withdraw my comment. Wookieepedia doesn't seem to have a picture of an unmodified light figate, so the Puncher is the only example we have. Its still a fantastic job.

Very good man, nice skills on the counter puncher.

Dude, is that just plasticard? Or did you use a 3d printer? How did you make that thing?!

Yes just plasticard and spare parts from old aircraft kits.

Bravo sir. You should cast those in resin and give them away for Christmas!

Nice job and I love the Y wing repaint!

Thanks for the cool complements, I am scratch-building 3 McQuarrie concept A-Wings and 6 Rihkxyrk Attack ships also, wish me luck!

I'd love to see some more pics, like the bottom of that bad boy.

great scratch build - what stats are you going to use? I assume large base with Tor Skylow as the pilot.

The Awesome thing about the Customs ship is I can play it either way as a Imperial ship or using Tor Skylow as the commander. I uploaded some additional pictures also some progress shots of the A-Wings.

Wish I could figure out how to post photos direct..

Testing...

I notice that you have been posting images now in your other projects topics. I just figured it out too.

Your work is inspiring me to get out my Plasticard and some tools.
