Ideas for a new deck *Newbie here*

By Watsu, in UFS Deck Building

Hi people!

My Battle Pack Ryu x Akuma arrived some time ago, and I picked up the Ryu deck.

After seeing some cards from the Akuma deck, I thought: "What? This attacks will beat the **** out of me!". Then we started playing.

I loved style of Ryu's deck. Building momentum and annoy the hell out of my brother by reducing his attacks to nothing!

Now, I want to improve my deck (or build another, if necessary). I am a total newbie in deck building, so I wanted something like the Ryu's deck: rise momentum and reduce damage.

Cards I liked from the deck: Proven (Low difficult, great control), The Strongest Fighter (Low difficult, great control), Grieving for the Master (Same thing), Evil Shunned (Same thing). All these cards can reduce damage, and I could parry almost all blows from Akuma. Ryu's Low Roundhouse can reduce damage too.

I want cards to raise momentum, and possibly annoy my opponent by discarding his momentum.

Thanks a lot!

Do you have any cards outside of the Ryu vs. Akuma starter pack? That will help give a starting point for additional deck suggestions as there are a plethora of cards in the game. If you are looking to expand your deck, the Street Fighter set Domination has cards that support both Ryu and Akuma (including a newer Akuma and Ryu), and many of Zangief''s cards will help with damage redux for your particular case. Some examples are The Red Cyclone of Mother Russia and Siberian Training which will reduce damage. I would recommend the site Two Headed Dragon www.twoheadeddragon.com/ufs/index.html as it has almost every card in the game and can be filtered by name, resources, card types and the like. I suggest sorting out the list by sets so if you like a particular batch of cards you know which set to in.

If you decide to buy some booster packs, just be aware that there is set rotation like in other card games. If you play casual there won't be a problem, but if want to play in tournaments only cards marked with a four point shuriken will be legal there (called Block 3). What do you want your deck to do?
