Episode 12 of the Order 66 Podcast is UP - All about Shadows of a Black Sun…

By GM Chris, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

What a crazy episode! Crazy awesome!

The Order 66 Podcast dropped Episode 12 - "Once you Go Black Sun, you Never go Back, Son" - last night. And we were proud to welcome a new FFG guest to the show: Associate RPG Producer, Katrina Ostrander!

Kat worked as the production lead for "Shadows of a Black Sun" (and for the forthcoming "Beyond the Rim" adventure penned by Sterling Hershey), and we take a rather long time to pick her braing lengthy discussion of the "Shadows of a Black Sun" adventure. This includes talk about some of the new rules updates, and the glory of full rules for playing Sabaac! (This includes confirmation of some of the new Core Rules changes represented in the module.)

Add some great listener mail questions, a counterfeited Skill Monkey segment, a trip to Watto's for some repair, and a Zann-tastic Fragments and Transmissions from the Rim… and it was quite the amazing show. Topped off by over an hour of post-show with Zoe Robinson dropping by, and it just gets EPIC.

Big thanks to Kat Ostrander (and Zoe Robinson) for this late night swirl into the realms of Cool… and perhaps a bit of Skulduggery. Listen and you'll learn (as we did), that once you go Black Sun, you never go back, son!

Thanks for listening, folks.

Peace, Love, and Good Gaming!

Heard on your show that Jay Little is leaving FFG, though will remain as a consultant. Want to wish him all the best and thank him for the hard work he put in creating the narrative dice mechanic which I have found to be a new leap in role play gaming. He has managed to tap into something fresh and new so I thank him for that and wish him all the best.

Bonus points for great episode title!

@DVeight, Yes, Jay announced this a while back on Facebook. And he said he's still staying on as a freelancer with FFG, so I'll bet we see his name on future Star Wars projects! ;-)

@jhsjhs, Thanks, man!

yet another triumph rolled for your show.

I just found out about your podcasts when I visited the boards here on the Free RPG day waiting to play the Black Sun adventure. Can't wait to listen to this one when I get up to date. I am currently on the 5th episode and hope to catch up so that by the time I get my hands on the Corebook when it hopefully comes out next week.

I'd still like to see Skill Monkey discuss what happens to your triumph if you fail, as in with the Mona Gungan. If you roll a triumoh and yet still fail, is it still the masterful copy? Or is there something else that can be done? While I'm not asking for an answer particular to this scenario, for future eps it would be nice to have some extra info.

Cheers,

CAPT Xebnilik

Awesome episode again. Really like Oskara getting some love. One of my favorite characters in the beginner's box. I'm one of the unfortunate ones who was unable to get a copy of Shadows of a Black Sun, so I'm really hoping it is released as a PDF.
