So im trying to understand the best way to build a deck ive read the rules and looked over everything ive played other card games for several years so I wanted to build one deck for the corporation and one for the runner - I own 3 core sets and all expansions Im just trying to find a good place to start and how to understand the limitations of deck building so I dont build anything illegal thanks! - also if there are any casting sites or anything that anyone can point me too that would be great thanks!
New to deck building
cardgamedb and meteor are the two most popular websites for building decks that I'm aware of.
I think Acemclaren was looking for strategies, not spreadsheets. The easiest way to deck build is to take a starter deck you enjoyed playing, add in cards you like, then subtract the cards you didn't like.
Ya this is what I was talking about, right now I have 3 core sets though and all six expansions so like you said I guess build all the starters out and go from there? - Thanks alot for your help - im really hoping itll help me -Eventually im going to make a facebook group do podcasts, and delve into it quite deep hopefully my name will be known as the fastest hacker around the net ~ breaking ice like a boss
(all in game perspectives lol no irl hacking)
Runner - Bring lots and lots of money cards. And some ice breakers. Get some search cards like Test Run, Djinn or Special Order. A little defense like armors or Decoys if you're feeling vulnerable. If you're going to run Magnum Opus, make sure you have a plan for the extra memory you need. Personally, I like Bank Job, because it gives you a quick seven bits and can't be trashed from a tag if you play it right.
Corp - Nearly half your deck should be ICE. The remaining cards should be split pretty evenly between Agenda, Money cards, and others. Go in with a plan: either tag and kill, or defend and agenda and build accordingly. Don't bother doing just a little damage. Likewise with tagging. Don't build to tag if you can't do anything with it. The runner won't always have resources to trash.

I just started deck building too and it's my real first attemp since I came out of my mom...
It's really frightening for me but what I did is I checked some deck from cardgamedb, choose one I liked and modified it with to add some cards I liked and substracts others I didn't. It's not really pure deck building but since I only played 6 games so far it's the best I can do without knowing the cards too much and each faction playstyle.
The more i'll play the best i'll understand how it all works and one day i'll build my own decks.
But for now i'm a frightened dude LOL!
