Release Date is July 5. Hopefully we reports that other retailers had their ship dates earlier we'll start to see orders ship soon with everyone getting theirs before July 5th.

Nice! Nice nice nice.
I'm hoping Amazon and such places get the core book, the GM's kit and dice sets at the same time.

Everything is proceeding as I have foreseen..
I'm seeing a release date for tomorrow at Barne's & Noble. I have no idea if they'll actually follow through with that date. http://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/star-wars-fantasy-flight-games/1114472575?ean=9781616616571

Lets hope you're right and the book is out there even earlier. Poentially if one retailer breaks the street date they all will ![]()
So it's going to come out on a Friday, and the day after 4th of July holiday? Maybe that's the date it hits the distributers, but I dont' see it as game stores, and book stores usually get their orders on Tue/Wed. Fingers crossed though.
All of sudden my heart rate increased dramatically.

I always got the impression that FFG's in store date is the day they expect all shipments to reach the multitude of FLGS and online retailer warehouses. Stores will most likely start selling/displaying/shipping them at varying times, as their individual shipments arrive. Shipments are probably going out daily right now as orders are being filled.

So I called a few Barnes and Nobles in southern California area and none of them have it, their warehouse is not showing it in stock despite them having the release date set today.
So I don't expect this to be a sign (sadly) that B&N will be releasing it early.

That's not a release date in regards to when B&N will have it in stores, but rather when they'll start shipping the books out to those who pre-ordered it.
So which one is better. The core rule book at $81 or the core rule book at $56?
Yes, thats the price range I am finding at my local stores in Sydney, Aus. On another note, I see that FFG updated their Featured news page and have a new topic "A look at building adversaries.." Thats two topics in a matter of 7 days. Yes, this is getting real folks. The edge down under is getting excited as well. We also got the drop on you inner core residents as a shippment was hijacked and we got our GM kits and dice packs already. But alas, we got a threat and our informant was wrong. The core rule book wasnt in the crate. ![]()
I just checked with my LGS and they have it as a July 2nd release in their database.
Either way the core rulebook will be out and we shall be rolling dice soon!

Saga edition, the superior vintage. Cheaper and with tripple the content for only a third or less of the price. Wow I wonder what book will be better. I expect the only thing the FFG books willdo better is art.

I nearly died of laughter.
If you think that the older editions of the role playing systems will be better than this one, and insist on badmouthing Edge of the Empire with no sources for your argument or reasoning other than 'because I said so", then I humbly request on behalf of the entire FFG staff and fans, that you kindly go away. ![]()

I like their other products, just not this one. I don't really need a source other than common sense and personal opinion. Saga lets you play anything right off the bat, GM can make any campaign. EofE is a very limited campaign. The end. As for the rest, well it's personal opinion so a bit pointless to try and debate that.
Now that I picked it up from my mates and have been able to open… for your viewing pleasure. The art is great and the tables inside meet with my expectations. No expert though I do think they cover most bases GM will need.

I ended up not getting the GM kit because some places including Barnes and Noble (where I pre-ordered) said that it would be available till mid july…whatever happened to that?

Not that I want you to post any spoilers but didn't the GM Kit come with a book of some sort?

Hell's bells man, the Star Wars Edition Wars have been fought since WotC introduced the d20 system in the wake of WEG's d6 system.
And each time there's been a new edition (OCR to replace d6, Saga Edition to replace OCR/RCR, EotE to replace Saga Edition), you'll see much the same justification as Gamgee's. Hell, you see it ever time there's a new rendition of D&D; we saw it with the transition from 2nd edition to 3rd edition, saw it with the move from 3rd to 4th, saw it with the advent of Essentials, and we'll probably see it when 5th edition gets officially unveiled.
For some folks, it's just not worth it to spend a bunch of money for a brand new RPG system when they've already got one that works quite well for them and their group. There are people that have been rockin' the D6 version for years and are still having fun in spite of the books being out of print for well over a decade.
If Gamgee has given EotE an honest chance and tried to run/play it, and still feels that this system isn't for him, then that's his call. If he'd rather stick with something he knows works rather than spend a lot of money (because let's face it, $60 for just a corebook and then another $15 for a basic set of dice is pretty **** pricey), that's his call.
So Gamgee, if you're having a blast playing and running Saga Edition, as one of the folks who did design work for that system, then I say keep on rockin' the d20.

Calm down it was just a one line throwaway joke :-) Let's be honest here Gamgee's comment was somewhat out of the blue (some may say trollish) on what is meant to be a release date thread and I was just poking fun at that with my Yoda 'quote'.
