Combo now an integral part of UFS?
You really are the Jesus to this game.

Eh, it's really a more complicated version of Shoulder Rush or Spinning Beat's ante text.
What'll really make the Combo ability cool is if it says something akin to: [Combo Sonic Boom] or [Combo Hadoken], meaning a card of that name has to precede it. Certainly makes sense.
With the way it is now, future releases of Dudley and Kim could be really interesting.

hahaha..win
I'm just waiting for King from tekken 6
Combo [throw]
Combo [throw throw]
Combo [throw throw throw]
etc
When'd he say that?
yeah combo looks kinda hot... but like... for something to be integral to the game, wouldn't it have to show up on like... one in three cards at least?
Bitter Rivals cheers!

Been out of the tekken loop since TTT (series went to hell after that IMO) does king still have rolling death cradle? I remember doing that to people in the arcades, lol.
Trick was learning how to "roll" your fingers, you always just release/press one button at a time. TTT and CvS2 had fighting right. I could play those games for hours.

Except for the whole Roll Cancel thing.

You can play a Combo attack first thing in a turn if you wanted to. But you wouldn't be using the most awesome part of it.
An analogue of Spinning Beat for Combo would be Combo (Kick, Kick), then have the Combo E be "This attack gets Multiple:2." You could play it at any other time, but if you happen to have 2 kicks before it (example), then you get the best of it.
I would be against Combo (Hadouken) and things like these because they lead to deck typing (if that's the word). Thus any decks with the Combo(Hadouken) card would basically all be the same. The moment you mention specific cards in other cards is the moment UFS turns into Yugioh.

The only way it could work is if it's a character's gimmick. Because heaven forbid we don't have gimmicky characters as is. What's one more in the seas of ::Alex::?
Difference is, my kind hat person, not every Alex deck is identical.
(Also, if you can't say Alex in UFS without mentioning the word "promo" before him, then you probably don't care anyways since you'll run the promo and deny the existence of the set one lol)

No, but they're pretty similar. They all bank on the R / Raw Talent combo.
At least when we're not talking about the Promo one.
True. Thing with Alex, though, is that you can use any attack lineup and it's not as restrictive as say, forcing someone to run Hadoukens.

RCing is only a problem if you can't do it

It's also a bug that was corrected in the later versions. Unlike, say, combos, which were introduced as a gameplay mechanic.
Personally, I like my fighters bug-free.
I think its fine that we dont have Combo(some specific named attack). It would be way to restrictive and would completley transcribe decktypes for any combo worth its salt.
That being said, if your really trying to mimick the games, ryu shouldnt be throwing sonic booms anyways, but if he could he could most likley combo off of it much in the same way he does his hadokens, so it works i think.

Plus, the way the mechanic works, we could have block combos. Block low then high for a Combo R: After you block this attack etc. etc. etc.

Yeah, it would be restrictive. Imagine this.
Ryu's Shoryuken **
Ryu Only - Combo(Ryu's Hadoken) ?
While it would seem fun, it also seems like it's forcing theme down the player's throat instead of being simply present in the cards. Sure, Jedah doesn't throw Sonic Booms, but this doesn't mean that every single signature attack should be character only as much as the theme in the card does not help other characters as much as the original character.

Honestly, if you make the card a Character Only, I think it's a good compromise. You can't run the card in any other deck anyway, so to have that card mention another card name specifically (like, for example, Kyo's Wicked Chew moves) could be okay for like, ONE card. It'd be that card's mechanic, and nothing else. I'd actually like to play Kyo with that mechanic, so long as said version of Kyo doesn't depend on such things.
