You've got questions, we've got answers!

I just wanted to get a topic going to get people thinking about creative ways to combat some of the best strategies and cards in the game. As my stores scout, I consistently hear players asking about how to combat this card or that combo. When I hear this, I get back to my deck shop (my card table in front of my TV) and start sifting through cards. At other times I just bring silly decks to have some fun and find that I have inadvertently found something that works. I figured this could be a place where people could post their solutions to card conundrums and also ask questions about how to combat some of the toughies out there. Posting here should be with the understanding that there may be counters to these combat measures, but there are pretty much counters to everything so lets just cut out the counters to the counters. We all know they exist so lets keep it shortened to one Baddie and one Stopper. Also there may be more than one counter so feel free to list them all.

I'll get this party started with one that I found in a random deck:

Baddie: :Guy:, Tsunami Saber, and Unorthodox Fighting Style

Stopper: Slim and Athletic

I showed up to host the tournament after our life patch tournament and found that I had failed to make a deck in the intervening time! I only had my 3 life decks from the week before. It really didn't matter as I'm the scout and not playing for anything, but I like to play for pride. I grabbed one and we rolled to set pairings. Of course in the first round I am paired against the raining store champion Guy and his Amazing Sabers of Death. I shrugged expecting two consecutive turn two losses with my silly life deck but was shocked to find he could get his kill off. His deck primarily focussed on making sure that Guy stripped you of momentum while giving him momentum and then Unorthodox on the Saber finished you. Various other cards were meant to protect that turn from bad R's or E's in the opponent's staging area, but Slim and Athletic was an E that I played on my turn! He didn't have anything to stop that. It worked beautifully and slowed the game down to give me a chance. In the interest of full disclosure, I did lose the round 2-1, but that victory got me thinking about the power of Slim and Athletic. It now always catches my eye when I'm sifting through cards for it's 3 symbols.

Anyone else to share their strategies or questions?

Stupid not being able to edit posts. I failed to spell check and we have a precipitating store champ. Sad panda.

On-topic, Rigorous Training tells Ways of Punishment to go shove it, and vs. Talim holding 1 last card, Chinese Sword Style, when your opponent thinks you're saving a Hammer and plays Widowmaker, is the greatest thing ever :P

actualy Jivatama and all his support vs. X's actions = epic fail for Jivatama's cards, lets see i make you discard 3 cards... Ok i discard Chinese Sword style so i discard your *usualy hand but if he's discarded down to 1 or 2 cards, make him clear his card pool*, a Pure of Heart now lose 6-7 vitality and a Dodge Step now i tap down 6-7 cards of my choice in your staging area, yeah i run the cards even if they share 0 symbols with my character... madness isnt it...

Give up Baranor!

Don't you know who my Guy is? He's the Juggernaut!

In all honesty I would /love/ to see something stop him cold, though!

Though to not go off-topic with trash-talking... Feline spike, what anwers turn-two spikes on Void or All?

best answers off the top of my head are...

All: Kings Games + Rising Tackle (action side) - goodbye enhance step
Void: No Memories - hello premature block step

actually... that's an answer to any attack really.
