Starck + Heavy Fire

By Andur Saibot, in Star Wars: The Card Game - Rules Questions

So… if I am attacking an undamaged objective but I give Starck a blast icon with Heavy Fire… does he gains his bonus after striking? And, if so, that means he has two combat damage to deal? And do the two blast icons he gains kick in too and are inflicted to the objective?

Thanks.

I disagree. You may resolve icons in any order, but what icons the strike deals is set when you perform the strike. You can't get extra icons between resolve blast and unit damage for example.

Also, all the blast icons resolve at the same time. So even if Stark did gain the icons, he wouldn't be able to use any new blast icons since he already resolved blast icons.

I think this has been covered before on this forum, with the parts of the rulebook that explicitly confirm this quoted.

because Starck's ability is a passive constant, and not a reaction or interrupt, he's an exception to this (which I do believe is generally true, unless there's an interrupt I'm forgetting about). As soon as he damages the objective with his blast icon granted by Heavy Fire, his text is active, so he now has 2 more blast icons (which cannot be resolved this combat because the opportunity has passed), and two unit damage which he can now utilize because his text is active as soon as the engaged objective is a damaged one.

But when you strike, all of the objective damage icons resolve at the same time. just like with unit damage. A jedi with Shi-Cho doesn't get to say one unit is killed before another on is, they all get shot at the same time. At the point where Starck strikes and damage is dealt to the objective, there is not another chance in that strike to apply objective damage again. Here is the other thread I was talking about before http://www.fantasyflightgames.com/edge_foros_discusion.asp?efid=340&efcid=4&efidt=822063 The gist of the thread is that on page 21 of the rulebook it says you pick which type of icons resolve first, then deal damage equal to the number of those icons. So no extra blast damage, since it checks the number of total blast icons, then applies damage to the objective. But if you resolve Objective damage first, Starck does get the extra unit damage icons.

No one in this thread has said otherwise so I am not sure why you are arguing the point. Everyone has said you would not be able to use the extra blast damage.

Actually, 2 people have said that starck would get his extra blast icons if he had a black blast icon somehow. There would be the people I'm replying to.

Apparently I'm bad at reading. Nevermind.
