With the city expansion finally here,,,I think it's time to give the Leprechaun his due. With his ability to teleport and gain money in the woods,,,the Leprechaun has now became the strongest character in Talisman. Another character who will benefit from the City is the Merchant! Starting with 5 gold makes the Merchant a monster now! Beware when Market Day and the Market appear when the Merchant is in play!! Alchemist is a beast, and probably too powerful as it is. I consider the Alchemist to be a bull **** card, and don't think it should be played!
Best Talisman character ??? Leprauchaun??

The Leprechun is far from the best character in fact if Talisman has no "Best Characters" if played right. Players who have great knowedge of the game will quickly realise some characters are more powerful when used and should gang up on players who play with some of the really sucko characters. This balances the game out, hench Talisman is the best with 5-6 players the less players makes some sicko characters more useable thus i would recommend always trying to get 5-6 player games going.
The sicko characters are the Assassin, Warlock and the Alchemist (with city).
some other characters are high tier one of which is the leprechun.
I wouldn't include the Assasin in the top tier of characters. Warlock is definitely a powerhouse,,but can have strength problems(which he usually overcomes with spells). My sleeper character is the Philosopher. The philosopher's ability to keep the board clear is one of the strongest abilities in the game, and rifling through the spell deck is another nice ability! I have laid A LOT of beat downs with the philosopher!! He is a much funner character to play as well! As for the Alchemist,,,we have banned him in our games,,,he is just an unfair character,,,especially with all the trinkets in the City and Highlands now. Doomsayer is definitely a character i would include in the elite list too! With the addition of the City,,,I now think the Thief is a little more playable with his ability to steal gold and obects becoming more useful.Alchemist would be a much fairer card if he didn't start out with 5 gold.

I think that the monk is one of the best characters at the beginning. Later on his advantage over the other Players has gone because of the warhorse.
All in all i have to say that most of the characters have in course of gameplay the chance to win the game.
Finally the victory or the defeat depends on your fortune. As a the troll you can draw several craft-enemies in a row.
So lets enjoy a the game that it is balanced.
