I am trying to understand the new card advance sensor. It says: immediatly before you reveal your maneuver you may perform 1 free action. If you use this ability you must skip your perform action step this round. As the way i see it is only is usable if you want to target lock a ship that may move out of range before you move or you have a chance to barrel roll or boost before you move if you think your normal move will make you collide. Still a steep price of 3 for this card. Am i right or do i see the use of this card wrong. Because you you dont gain an extra perform action since you loose your ability to do your normal perform action.
Advanced sensors
You could barrel roll away from an obstacle, and then proceed around and past it.
It allows you to take an action before you execute a maneuver that would normally make you skip your Perform Action step, like colliding with an obstacle or another ship, or executing a red maneuver. Also, you can attempt to flip over any faceup damage cards before executing a maneuver that would cause you to lose your Perform Action step as well. And yes, on the B-wing it allows you to Barrel Roll before maneuvering, drastically changing your end position and allowing you to miss obstacles or ships that you would otherwise have collided with. And like you said, you may Target Lock a ship that you would otherwise have been moving out of range to do. I think it's a very useful card and will see lots of play.
