Attachment / Mod XP cost?

By Jshock, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

Hi, I didn't see this topic covered anywhere; the section on attachments and mods in the beta (p122, 1st column, 4th para) implies an associated XP cost:

The player spends his XP and money for the attachment, he makes a skill check to attach it (or pays to have it done), he is left with an improved and unique piece of equipment specifically tailored to his needs.

I don't see any associated XP costs listed anywhere, however. Is this a bit of leftover rules that got taken out before beta was even published or something? It makes a bit of sense for mods; something like 5xp for the 1st, 10 2nd, etc.

Huh, never noticed that. And I dont see it mentioned in the Beta notes. It may refer to talents in a tree (Gadgeteer or Mechanic) come to mind that allow weapon modification.

Other than that I wouldn't sweat it too much. There's a lot of bits of text in the Beta that implied rules that no longer exist or never existed in the final product. If that the only place an XP cost of attachments are mentioned, I'd personally consider it a typo.

Hopefully, this will be corrected or clarified in the final product.
