Despite Mirlonde's weak stats and mediocre ability, i was still looking forward to using her as i love trying new things. In designing a deck i wanted to take advantage of two of Mirlonde's characteristics, her low starting threat and silvan trait. Below I've created a solid deck that has beat the Steward's Fear, the Druadan Forest, and Massing at Osgilith during trial testing. (note: i only use 1 core set)
Heroes: (starting threat of 19)
Mirlonde - Glorfindel (spirit) - Denethor
Allies:
Henamarth Riversong x1
Arwen Undomiel x2
Imaldris Stargazer x2
Silvan Refugee x3
Silvan Tracker x3
Mirkwood Runner x3
Haldir of Lorien x2
Attachments:
Unexpected Courage x3
Light of Valinor x3
Resourceful x3
Ranger Spikes x3
Asfaloth x2
A Burning Brand x2
Events:
Strider's Path x3
The Galadhrim's Greeting x2
Daeron's Runes x3
Secret Paths x2
Risk Some Light x3
A Test of WIll x2
Radagast's Cunning x2
The goal is simply to keep the threat low and manipulate the encounter deck to the point where you can use will power to get thru the encounter deck with relative ease. With a starting threat of 19 my goal is to get a light of valinor AND Resourceful in my opening hand although a lot of the time this doesnt happen and its best to just settle for one or the other. Besides Resourceful the only other secrecy card is Risk Some Light where even if it cant be used when the threat is below 20, is still a really good card worth the 3 resources. With Elrond's Counsel and Galadrim's Greeting I can usually still keep my threat below that 20 threshold especially if an Elrond's Counsel is in my opening hand or pops up in the first two turns. You'll notice all the silvan allies are here to take advantage of the silvan tracker's ability which helps absorb archery damage or undefended attacks. Denethor while not thaaat thematic is an able bodied defender if i feel the need to engage anyone but mostly will be using his ability, he is also the hero that would claim unexpected courage.
The deck's biggest weakness are card draw and attack power. The deck would probably benefit from master of the forge and to be honest, the only reason hes not in this list is because i need him more in a different deck i have and i loathe using proxys.
Lemme know what you guys think or if there are any other Mirlonde decks you've been using that have been effective
