I don't know about any official ruling, but what I said is what I think.

And if you use the Sunglasses with no gate back then you would simply stay in the same location. in the following turn, if you still can't go back, you will then be litas.

You should state both this and the prior ruling on Sanity/Stamina on the card. There's plenty of room and these most certainly are vague enough to have the question arise mid-game. Nip it in the bud now.

In other news, I quite like Alternate Reality. Amanda with the White Ship has an easy time with the mission, but I don't see that as a problem as she tends to be undervalued anyways.

No way for alternate reality. All you need is captain of the white ship. Easy to get and you can shut off monster surges and gate burst. Nope. I'd even be against it if you had to get to four 2nd areas, but not as much.

Are you high? "All you need is Captain of the White Ship? WTF? Oh is that all ? Maybe you can get a good combo going with an obscure Exhibit Item or a specific Corruption while you're at it. Wait, is there some sort of combo you can pull with a Blight card you want to tell us about?

Please, we're talking about a card that requires that you close two gates, then go to Kingsport and have an encounter there, then go to the second location of three different outer worlds after you get 2 extra skills. Add up the times on that:

4 turns (minimum) to get the gate trophies for the White Ship in the first place.

1 turn (minimum) to get the White Ship

2 turns (minimum) to get the extra skills

6 turns (minimum) to get to the outer worlds to sacrifice skills.

Gosh, it's turn 13 (minimum), I hope you're up against Azathoth because if you were up against any other Great Old One the game would be over already!

That card is completely ueless and would never, ever be completed. It's a completely wasted spot in the Unique Item deck. It's like one of those stupid thrones. For how ridiculously difficult it is to complete it should make you automatically win. That it doesn't even do that makes it a comical coaster of no value to anyone.

I know you love combos, but come on. Just because a Mission could theoretically be completed doesn't mean that it isn't a flaming piece of poo.

Oh, so you're against this, but not against For the Greater good? My card+white ship will help you win the game, For the Greater Good+white ship will win you the game.

::Shrug:: so you want *two* overpowered white ship combos in the unique deck instead of just one? Go ahead. If you insist. Uh, also, you're forgetting a copule minor details. One, that's a four location card. Two, it requires 16 clue tokens on one investigator. That's not nearly as easy to get as three skills (because cash to buy skills is transferable), trophies and clue tokens are not. Also, if you try to pull off FTGG, the other players suffer a clue token shortage and can't do their jobs of sealing, which can sometimes get you into deep ****. $24 however is expendable (and not difficult to raise with a group effort).

Thank you. I'm sick of Avi treating every single piece of custom card I make a game-braking card. I swear, even if I will make a mission "the game is over and the investigators lose" Avi would find a ridicouls impossible combo to make it game-winning. I mean, come on .

Your games end in 13 turns? Odd. Do you have very bad card drawing luck? No monster surges? Personally I play more defensive strategies and try to get one or two unique items that can remove a doom token each game.

Regardless, you're probably right, it's too time inefficient, and too much of a sidequest to really matter against most AOs. Although I dislike the idea of being able to turn of surges in general (since there are several AOs who have abilities dependent on surges).

The Sun Glasses are cool but why would they stop you from being LiTaS? Maybe stop you from lossing money in a encounter/ auto pass a will check/ discard of course or something. plus where do you show up after your not LiTaS? Map of the Mind effect I guess.

Why would Makeup prevent you from being arrested?

Ok I'm not asking about Makeup I would ask the person who created Makeup that question. Sense your the person who created Sunglasses I'm asking you your reason behind the preventing of LiTaS.

So why?

Because there's already a "discard to prevent being arrested/delayed/devoured" and no "discard to prevent litas".

A Cat Eye's our something mystical in nature would make more sense to me...

Telescope/ delayed ~reason: you can see the trouble before your in it

Makeup kit/ arrested ~reason: you wear it and fool the cop

The Messanger/ devoured ~ reason: he sacrifices himself in your place

Sunglasses/ LiTaS ~ reason: ? another item is needed for this purpose... the LiTaS is reflected off the lenses, to cool looking to be LiTaS, etc

Some sort of navigational thing maybe, like a sextant or a compass.

Sword of Kadath is a bit much, since it basically means that in most games, you can't ever fail to close a gate. You could make it a once-only ability (so it has to be discarded to automatically pass the gate check). That'd at least give the investigator an agonizing choice to make.

Colt is good. It's like an even pricier version of the .357 Magnum.

Thinking it should cost a little more.

Isn't that an Ice Age card from M:tG? (Or is it from Alliances?)

Make the sword a discard, or how about counting as though you are blessed for gate closing checks? A flat out success against anyone but Yog-Sothoth's gates is a bit too much, as the skill adjustments and chance of failure are a key point of tension when it comes time to close.

Yes it is ha ha from Alliances!

how about "exhaust to re-roll a fight or a lore check made to close a gate"?

there's either +2 to a major skill; or +1 to two major skills; or +2 to two subskills, so why not +1 to four subskills?

It's 'Sanford' not 'Stanford'. I can't really fault the idea though, because my Cult of the Golden Scarab cards include an almost-identical Ally based on the same character.

really? I never downloaded your expansionn though.

A flavorful weapon:

And a nice set of encounters:

edit: the gloves are obviously a physical weapon, I forgot
