Hi All,

Sorry if this has been asked before (I did search) but do you have to land exactly on the city gate space to buy wanted posters? Or can you buy them as you enter and move on past the space?

Check the City Rulebook, page 8:

Wanted Posters are available to all characters who visit the City Gate , as described in the instructions on the space. Characters may either buy any Wanted Posters on the space for one gold each, or claim the bounty from Wanted Posters on the space (see “Claiming Bounties” to the right). If a character buys a Wanted Poster, he may claim the bounty any time during his turn.

The instructions on the City Gate Space tell more or less the same. If a space has instructions on it they must be followed when encountering the space, except some special cases (i.e. spaces that allow crossing between Regions, which have also rules about crossing).

I already read that and it isn't clear to me IMHO. If you have to land on the space exactly with a die roll or some other means (teleport) to buy the posters the rulebook should just come out say it that way. Is that the way you are playing it?

The City Gate space has the instructions written on it. Should I follow them when I land on it? Of course yes, exactly as it happens when I land on the City space of the main board and have to visit one of the 3 shops (Enchantress, Doctor, Alchemist) and on any other space in the game.

The City Rulebook might be slightly unclear when it says "characters who visit the City Gate", not being "visit" a typical Talisman keyword, but the meaning in English language does not leave room for other unusual interpretations. Moreover, the City Gate space won't have any purpose if you were able to buy Wanted Posters from it without landing on it.
