Shields on TIEs….SACRILEGE!

Dare I say it? LOL

I am trying to get a good pure TIE list going that isn't aswarm. So Shielding TIEs came to mind. Would it be worth it to spend the 4 points?

Not scarilege since some TIEs were known to have a shield generator in them, but for what 3 mods would cost in this game you can get a whole TIE to annoy, shoot, or run into other ships with.

Personally I like stealth on my ties more than shields. The overall impact tends to be more with a three agility ship.

The Stealth Device is an excellent option, but if you botch the roll its 3 points down the toilet. I feel the TIEs have enough agility dice and the shields give you some forgiveness for those initial attacks that I am thinking it might be good to try. And my dice rolls tend to flake. Let's just say I was shot at the 3 attack dice and all three hit. I had 5 agility…..and I got all blanks.

The stealth device kinda goes to chance. But the shield upgrade is a guarantee.

Captain, go ahead and sheild your Tie's and then play against another Imperial. You'll be fighting one of the PC game's campaign on the side of Admiral Zaarin. Some of the best missions we had in that game.

Cool! I am working on some fleet ideas to see how they work. Probably a 4 TIE fleet, with an interceptor or two.

I find that my 3 point stealth device avoids more hits than a one off shield save for 4 points. Stealth is a better buy IMHO.

Yes….yes….yes! Stealth on a TIE is well worth the 3 points over a Sheild Upgrade. 3 points for something you may lose in one combat phase vs. 4 points for something you may lose in one combat phase. Also you can lose that shield to splash damage….you don't lose that stealth to splash damage!
