I am trying to build one deck that can beat all six of the quests in the Hobbit Saga without any card changes. This deck is great but has trouble with last two quests (Lonely Mountain and Battle of Five Armies).
Heroes:
Ori (lore)
Nori (spirit)
Oin (spirit)
Allies (29):
Erebor Hammersmith x2
Miner of the Iron Hills x2
Erebor Record Keeper x3
Henamarth Riversong x1
Rivendell Minstrell x3
Dori x1
Bifur x1
Core Gandalf x2
OHaUH Gandalf x1
Gloin x1
Fili x1
Imladris Stargazer x3
Zigil Miner x3
Kili x1
Dwalin x1
OHaUH red Bofur x1
Veteran Axhand x2
Attachments (12):
Fast Hitch x1
Protector of Lorien x1
Thror's Map x1
Legacy of Durin x1
Resourceful x2
Song of Kings x1
Song of Wisdom x1
Steward of Gondor x1
Dwarodelf Ax x2
Ring Mail x1
Events (10):
Rumours from the Earth x1
Dwarvin Tomb x1
Galadhrim's Greeting x3
Untroubled by Darkness x1
Will of the West x1
Hail of Stones x3
Strategy: The deck looks inconsistent because of so many single cards, but honestly it runs smooth because of card drawing and search.
The main focus of the deck is card drawing and using stargazer to get exactly the card you need for whatever situation you happen to be in. If you don't see the cards you need you can search with Minstrel or Bilbo (searching for treasure).
The deck is a ton of fun. The key is to get to 5 dwarves fast. You play the Record Keeper and Zigil Miner or Kili/Fili as quickly as possible, then rely on Ori extra card each round to keep playing a dwarf when you can, which keeps the threat low. Once situation is stabilized you can use Thror's map and Hail of Stones to keep it clear as you quest. (Seriously, Hail of Stones is the best card in all of LOTR) Skry with Rumours and Riversong and use Dwarvin Tomb and Will of West to get cards you need (like Hail of Stones) from discard back into deck (only use tomb to fetch will). You always have the cards you need pretty much and eventually you will win with a low threat level.
I thought the deck would have trouble with the riddle game with Gollum, but actually wins pretty easily. The only time the deck really has a hard time is when it is overrun with a lot of enemies in the early game before 5 dwarves in play.
Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated, thanks!
