Finally got a set of my own

By Wolfgar, in Arkham Horror Second Edition

I've been playing at a friend's house, with his set. I did buy the guy Innsmouth, although I'm not sure if that was really a nice thing to do or not.

But now I have my own Ah set! I unboxed it just a few hours ago. i can hardly wait to play a game. So pretty. So very very pretty.

Now to collect all the expansions. I'm probably starting with King in yellow and working my way down, although I might make Innsmouth a priority for REVENGE.

Unpacking AH is still the best memory of my gaming life :) Congrats for the purchase! Let Wotan's wilde Jagd begin! :)

Welcome to the madness, you'll enjoy it!

If there's one expansion that can truly be defined as a nightmare, it's Innsmouth!

…and ys, there's nothing quite like that new game smell reir

It feels kind of like unpacking a box of lego as a kid. Not something you find in life too often as an adult. :-D Oh and the smell… for some reason, there really is something special about that.

I bought a house last year, and I knew full well I would have game room. While others bought very nice house-warming gifts, I bought myself Innsmouth.

Just seeing the sheen on the tile as I punched out the God of the Bloody Tongue brought a smile to my heart.

Right before he ripped it out.

I think the new-game smell is like a new book smell. That is the smell of new stories, new adventures and, if you're getting a game or expansion with Investigators, it's also the smell of new and first meetings. It's one thing to hear about Patrice or Agnes and all but it's a completely different thing to hold the sheet and token in your hands.

I LOVE unpacking a new game, so much in fact that I just sort of bask in it for a bit while sitting in my boxers and drinking a bit of brandy--makes things awkward since I do my unpacking of the game expansion in the game store right after I buy it.
