Blind Draw

So I have been kicking around an idea for a different way to okay. We will be trying this this weekend to see how it plays out.

I take all the named pilots and 2-4 if the unnamed pilots of each faction. U shuffle the pilot cards and deal 5 rebal and 8 Empire pilots to the players. i then shuffle 2-3 of each upgrade and seal out 5-6 to each player. They look at both hands and choose one if the and make a 100 pt squad with those pilots and upgrades. The players then battle, everyone vs everyone in a arena type fight. When a player kills a pilot, the card and upgrades and added to the killers points pile. At the end if the battle the winner is the one with the most points.

I will be play testing this this weekend. I'll post how it goes.

drafting pilots could be pretty interesting. deal 4-ish cards to each player and they select one and pass the rest, rinse and repeat then draw more cards (best for 4+players)

It worked out pretty good…makes you really way your choices, and tests your skill with the game in general. We each received 10 imperial pilots and 6 rebel pilots…,.10 upgrade cards….build the best imp or rebel squad you can and hit the 'arena'. We had 4 people, so we each had a corner of the 3x3 board, in a range 3 arc (measured from the corner), no asteroids (due to 4 players).

It was fun and different.

Thinking if doing a small league with this format, at least a trial run league. Idk if it will be 100 pt or 66pt( so if you get lucky, 2 firesprays lol). ideas?

We played a game yesterday with random squadrons and upgrades. We each drew five pilots and six upgrades. The points worked out pretty darn even at 133 to 132. The squads were obviously not the most optimal but it was fun. I had 3 A-wings and 2 Y-wings, mostly all named pilots vs Marak Steele, and unnamed pilots in another Advanced TIE, 2 Interceptors, and a TIE.

I took down the two interceptors on turn 1 with well delivered concussion missile salvos. That set the tone of the game and eliminated all imperials while not suffering any loses.

Y-wings with no turrets rather suck, LOL.
