In the end, Dennis with his Martell TLV took the regional by storm and went 8-0. Congratulations!

Just a quick note regarding the last sentence of the OP regarding it being 'my' deck (even though Im sure it wasn't his intent). I want to make sure I give the deck credit to Chad B. I changed roughly 3% of his list. Was a blast to pilot, but to be clear I had nothing to do with the original design of the list.

I had a ton of fun at this event. For a first regional in CT it was run super smooth. I'm surprised to see that 25% of the field was Lanni though as that is the only house I didn't see all day.

Part of the reason you didn't see Lanni is because I think only 1 Lanni deck was 1-0 after the first round. Your only shot at facing the other 4 decks would have been in the top 8 because of your undefeatedness.

Just a note of DC dominance, we had 5 players at two different tournaments that day, all making top 4 of their respective regional and 2 wins. This brings the combined DC/Wisc meta to 5 individual regional winners, including Chad B. taking the win at Days of Ice and Fire with the deck Dennis made his list from.

Isn't top 8 out of 20 a bit much? That's 40 %…

*shrug*

I don't know. Top 8 was more fun for everyone and we had plenty of time.

So long as the people want it and the venue has the time for it, I dont think anything is too much. We've had a 13 person tourney cut to top8 before. Gives the people who traveled more opportunity to play versus people that they normally wouldnt.

Pssshhhhh, if it works for the NFL it should work for everyone!
