Lightsaber Deflection x2

By Andur Saibot, in Star Wars: The Card Game - Rules Questions

Hello again.

Is it possible to play two of these cards to prevent and redirect 2 points of damage from the same source? Or it is not because once you have resolved the first one the damage is already done?

Thanks.

Ok, thank you.

So… following this path, would this be correct?

Jedi Mind Trick -> Imperial Supression -> C-3PO -> Imperial Supression (again on JMT) or the last IS would be late and unable to cancel the trail of cancellations?

Thanks again!

Short answer: Yes, that would work.

Long answer: The "window" to play an interrupt against Jedi Mind Trick (or any effect at all) doesn't close until both players pass on that window. So for example:

1. It's the DS players's turn, and at some point the LS player plays Jedi Mind Trick on a DS unit.

2. The DS player is the active player, so he gets the first chance to play an interrupt, and plays Imperial Suppression.

3. Now a new effect is created (Imperial Suppression's effect) and the DS player has a chance to play an interrupt to his own effect, but passes.

4. The LS player now has a chance to interrupt Imperial Suppression, and does so by destroying 3P0 to cancel it.

5. Since no players have any more interrupts to Imperial Suppression, they both pass on interrupts. Since both players have no reactions to Imperial Suppression, they both pass on reactions. (Technically, 3P0 blowing himself up is another new effect, but I'm trying to pare this down to make it easy.)

6. Now we're back to the original interrupt window for Jedi Mind Trick. The LS player can interrupt his own event if he wants to, but passes.

7. Now it goes back to the DS player, he again has a chance to interrupt Jedi Mind Trick, and plays another copy of Imperial Suppression. Return to step 3, except this time there's no 3P0 in play, so the LS player will need to play another "cancel" to stop the 2nd Imperial Suppression. If he doesn't, Suppression will stop Jedi Mind Trick.
