1. Simply delete the app from your device.
2. Then re-install the app and restore your purchases.
3. Have fun against Hastur or purchase the new Dark Pharaoh content.

Tested on my iPad and it fixed it for me. Generally speaking, this fix works for any botched app update. I've used it for Ghost Stories and other boardgame apps.
