DECKBUILDERS PLEASE HELP

By neill_ramsey, in Strategy and deck-building

Hello all, I am headed to GenCon and have gotten into the LOTR: LCG game "Stone of Eroch". I am very excited. I need help building my deck, as I am not good at this. Usually I take other builds I find on this fourm to play. I am a solo player. My collection is easier to describe what packs I do not have: HN, CATC, & OH & UH. Once again I do not have these packs. The game will be two player, but I do not have a partner. This means I want heroes that are not often used so there will be no duplication problems. I have never played this game with a partner so no difficult combo's. I am going to try to recruit my friend into helping me play some two player games just to get a feel for the deck. Please lets try to include a sideboard in case of duplication. I will be checking in on this often but I can't access this site from work. Thanks for taking the time to read this and I hope you can help me.

I would like to include Feint and Forest snare so there is tactis and lore. Those spheres have a good selection of heroes, keeping the duplications down. How many allies, attachements and events for a good balance?

Usually I put in:

19-24 allies

Attachments and events really depend on the Heroes. Like if its Glorfindel or somebody who has lots of attachments, then you will have prob pretty even amount of attachments as events. But if not as many attachments than idk prob like 9 or something. Very busy lately so sorry dont have the time to make a deck list though. Even if I did, I Don't think a deck built by me would be worthy of GenCon or something. Anyways, hopefully you will get responses!!

I want the deck to basically be able to survive. The game is two player but since I don't have a partner I will be matched up with someone when I get there. I think all of the print and play modules are from previous GenCons. I have never played them, are they very difficult? I think I will have start a list to have others comment and help, maybe others reading this are thinking I a lazy. I am not I just don't really know how to build a deck and have limited time to learn.

I am now thinking of a Rohan deck and considering these cards to start. Due to the fact that I don't want to duplicate can I have suggestions to replace Eowyn and Arwen? They are my two main questers. Is a Rohan deck powerful enough? I have added HoN, OH& UH, and the latest pack The Druadan Forest. My collection is only missing CatC. I appreciate all replies, thank you.

I was looking at the cards in the Rohan deck to find that I am not able to put together a good one, I don't have Conflict at the Carrock. There are lots of good Rohan cards in that pack. Oh well

Make an outlands deck, should be able to run over things quite easily. The Steward's Fear is a MUST for this deck and Forlong from The Druadan Forest is also amazing. This build I've been toying around with isn't all that bad. http://i245.photobucket.com/albums/gg65/nizmojoe/outlands_zpsbbe92742.jpg Parting gifts is situational at best and could be swapped out for something like Wealth of Gondor

Thank you. I just got HON, SF and the latest pack, so I will have a go at an outlands deck.
