Quick question, Tycho can perform actions, but not red manuvers, while stressed. So what happens when you're stressed and use the daredevil action which allows you to do a red 1 turn? Does it not go through since he can't do reds at that moment or does it go through since it's not a manuver granted by the dial? I'm leaning towards the former interpritation but I can see an argument for the later and one of the people I game with loves to question every rule interpretation I make no matter how clear it is.
Tycho and daredevil
Daredevil says "Execute a red {turn 1} maneuver."
P. 17 says "While a ship has at least one stress token, it cannot execute red maneuvers."
I would say that the "cannot" takes precedence.

Quite right - FFG has made it clear that "cannot" trumps "can".
Really no difference between this and Han not being able to re-roll against Dark Curse. You have an action to spend, but some effect is preventing you. Tycho may be pretty badass, but even he can't made a daredevil maneuver when he's stressed out ![]()
Tycho can declare the Daredevil action, but not complete the maneuver.
The FAQ entry for Expert Handling seems the most relevant source:
Q:
If a ship uses the action on Expert Handling, but cannot perform the barrel roll because other ships are in the way or because it already barrel rolled this round, does it still resolve the rest of the card’s effect?
A:
No. If the ship cannot perform a barrel roll action, the rest of the card’s effect does not occur. The owner of the ship may check to see if a barrel roll is possible before committing to this action.
This seems to hint pretty strongly that once you're in an Action, it is possible for part of that action to fail. The answer definitely says it's possible for the barrel roll to fail, and the "check to see if possible" applies to Expert Handling, not the barrel roll. I read this as saying that if you declare the Expert Handling and then find you can't barrel roll anywhere, the barrel roll fails. Same would apply to Tycho with Daredevil.
That said, I don't know many players who'd actually enforce that, even in a tournament setting. Regardless of the strict timing order that may exist, most players tend to flow everything together and will treat "I can't perform the maneuver" as "I can't take Daredevil".
Ok. Thanks. As I said that was my thoughts on it but I only know four other gamers and one of them is a real jerk who would spend an hour argueing about it just to annoy me.
