Dodgy Rebels

By Zoccola, in X-Wing

Hi,

I just started playing XWing and I have been thinking up some lists. Here is my idea for a very survivable list.

Total Squad Points: 100

Pilot: Luke Skywalker
X-Wing (28)
Upgrades:

  • Elusiveness (2)
  • R2-F2 (3)
  • Stealth (3)

Pilot: Wedge Antilles
X-Wing (29)
Upgrades:

  • Expert Handling (2)
  • R2 (2)

Pilot: Tycho Celchu
A-Wing (26)
Upgrades:

  • Elusiveness (2)
  • Stealth (3)

The idea, use Luke and Tycho to distract the opponent while Wedge tries to kill as much as he can before succumbing to enemy fire, then out lasting the opponent with Luke and Tycho.

I think they are pretty tough to kill, I mean Tycho will be Agility 4 + Elusivness for a free negate + Evade token / or Focus, and Luke will be Agility 4 with Evade and his latent pseudo focus. Wedge should be able to finagle himself out of LOS thanks to a PS of 9 and barrel rolls.

So I leave my opponent with the choice: Focus on something hard to hit when you have all your stuff, or focus on something thats deadly and try to take out stuff thats hard to hit when you have less stuff.

I dont know, any thoughts?

A few pointers

Pilot: Luke Skywalker
X-Wing (28)
Upgrades:

  • Elusiveness (2)
  • R2-F2 (3)
  • Stealth (3)

Elusiveness will stress you and then you can't use actions next turn unless you make a green manuvere. Which are few and far between on an X-Wing dial so the synergy with R2-F2 is poor. You would be better to use Push the Limit so you can use R2-F2 and focus if you are willing to be stressed. Better offensive and defensive set up.

Pilot: Wedge Antilles
X-Wing (29)
Upgrades:

  • Expert Handling (2)
  • R2 (2)

Expert handling will stress Wedge. I you are going to stress him use Push the Limit so he can focus and target lock. It has a better offensive and defensive value.

Pilot: Tycho Celchu
A-Wing (26)
Upgrades:

  • Elusiveness (2)
  • Stealth (3)

Again, if you are going to be stressed use Push the Limit, 2 actions, so you could evade and focus. Very hard to hit Tycho with that and Stealth and shedding stress on Tycho is easy.

I have tried Elusiveness and I'm not a fan. When the ship shooting at you has a Focus token, it only has a 1/4 chance of changing a hit to a miss. It just wasn't worth 2pts and getting stressed, in my experience. I would use those points on something else.

The build very much depends on how good you are at keeping Wedge alive. Most people at this point instictively go after Wedge first. Hope you try it out and report back on the results.

My bad, Luke was meant to have R2 and Wedge R2-F2.

I didnt realize that focus would still count after the forced reroll. Hmmm. I was thinking about PTL with Tycho, although I do like the idea of Daredevil.

I could do the following:

Pilot: Luke Skywalker
X-Wing (28)
Upgrades:
Push The Limit (3)
R2 Astromech (1)
Stealth (3)

Pilot: Wedge Antilles
X-Wing (29)
Upgrades:
Push The Limit (3)
R2 Astromech (1)

Pilot: Tycho Celchu
A-Wing (26)
Upgrades:
Push The Limit (3)
Stealth (3)

Although that does feel a little copypasta. Any comments on Tycho with PTV vs Daredevil?

A much nicer list.

You might drop Skywalker and put in Biggs with R2-F2 and Stealth. Pretty much everyone has to shoot at him instead of the others until he's dead.
