Hi all,lets say i have a ton of units attacking a zone with recon in force ( the new empire mission) in the same zone,if i have the 3 damage to assign to it and all my units will die in the battle,do the units die first then recon takes effect?Or recon first to shuffle and draw 3 then the units enter the discard pile?

So before it is applied therefore before units actually die.
