Im curious as to how much use your hoth expansions are getting in your builds? Do you find you are pulling out your second core set pods for new hoth pods? or adding more pods to your build?
Builds with new expansions or sticking with the old?
Several of the expansion objective sets have been getting significant play in winning decks.
I played last weekend with only 3 objectives from my 20 not in the core. My entire DS was core, then 2 hoth ops and 1 prep for battle in my LS. 3 full wins and a modified win in the 4 rounds before the cut. I think I am going to cut prep at this point for a second ackbar or a leia.
As previously said several of the new objectives sets are seeing significant play, but they are supplemental to the core set. And even so I don't see anyone playing with just expansion packs and one core set. So many of the objectives in the core set are so important for their builds you really want to have two.
Quick opinion: they're supplemental, helping fortify your strategy.
Longer opinion, in an attempt to add to the discourse:
It looks to me that about 80% of the force pack objective sets released so far have included doubles of at least one card (which is considerably more doubling than occurs in the core objective sets). It's more than a coincidence: AAC-1 Speeder Tank, Wampa, Icetromper, Old Ben's Spirit, Gotal Outcasts, Weequay Elite, etc. I think this is FFG's way of giving players a solid reason for adding only one copy of an objective. Sure you can add two, and build a strategy around one of the new sets (like Prep for Battle), but you can get away with one. If I add only one of a set into a deck, it's usually a set with doubles of a card. Plus the force pack cards feel more support-based to me.
