I seemed to have missed the boat. I just got into this game about a month ago. Bought two starter sets and got what seems to be really lucky and bought a Y-wing and a Tie Advanced at retail cost. But now all I can find is the Falcon and Slave-1 anywhere. Well I suppose if I'd like to pay two or three times retail I can get some of the older models off Ebay. I am confused I see there's a new wave of ships coming but is this game already dead?
Tell me there's a new hope coming

So the ENTIRE internet is sold out of **** near everything becuase it's selling to fast? Sorry something isn't adding up here. Guess I wait and see.
It comes down to FF not having a crystal ball and being able to see that this one game….out of all their games….would put them in the 2nd place of top selling miniature game companies in just a few months. BTW they knocked PP out of 2nd, and they have been in the mini game market for years. FF is reprinting all the wave 1 and 2 ships. The reprints are going to be exactly like the originals. It will just take time for the China factories to make the stock and ship them.
The first wave was release in august of 2012. Has there been a "re-print" of those ships since then? Is there an estimated time or something? Is this infomation from a FF news release? Sorry about all the questions I just really like this game and hate to see it disappear to something as silly as no product to sell.
There have been several reprints. They sell out with in days to weeks after they get in stock. If you are in the states. Check Barnes and Noble. and Target. My local target has 4 starter sets on the self. And if you are looking for ties and x-wings that is the best deal.
The reality is the game is doing far better than they expected. And it is selling faster than they can get stock made ans shipped.
http://www.fantasyflightgames.com/edge_upcoming.asp Check here. Reprints are coming.
Q3 …ok, guess I'll wait a bit. I'd really like to push this at my FLGS to get some more players into it but looks like I'll have to wait a couple months to do it. Thanks for the info.
Bottom line is the game is not dead it is just selling so fast if you don't get lucky and find them when they get back in stock they sell out within days like Daeglan said.
I understand your problem there. I got into this game right as stuff was drying up after the last reprints. Me and a few others of my WKWG group here in KY started playing…..the others want to start they just can't find alot of the smaller ships which is a bummer!
Check your local targets and Barnes and nobles. You will likely find some as they last longer there. fewer gamer vultures attacking as it were.

Heh, yeah… I went to three different B&N stores in the St. Louis metro area last week and ended up with two more X-Wing and one of the Tie fighter expansions at regular retail.
@General_Chaos
What I would do at this point is find an online retailer like Cool Stuff Inc.com or Miniature Market.com, create an account and start a wishlist. Once a product on your wishlist is available you will receive an email.
I mention those two because they generally sell at less than retail and often have discounted shipping rates for certian value of purchases.
Yep, definitely far from dead. Just a victim of its own stupendous success. FF did not forsee this, so many people have almost been crying out for a Star Wars tabletop game that recreates the iconic battles of PC games like X-Wing and its successors that when this finally hit last year, it went supernova. And what's more everybody (and I mean everybody) that I know of that have played it, love it.
Stock always sells out, but I never see anyone playing at the game store. There's even a table dedicated to it, and I think I've seen it used twice.
I just picked up an A-Wing, Y-Wing and a Tie Interceptor at Barnes and Nobles today in Peoria IL.

Right, I'm not sure why this is. I think a lot of people are playing it with there friends/family at home. By all accounts, it is highly popular but just like I don't see people bringing in Ticket to Ride to a game store, this game seems to sell well and get played in private. All the GenCon events were sold out in about 2 hours or so and the local regionals where I'm at are fielding about 20+ people. Outside of sanctioned tournaments though, I haven't really seen it in games stores near me.
I spoke to Jay Little about this today. He confirmed FF had several distinct target markets for X-Wing. It just so happened that it was a hit in all of them; something they had not expected!
yep, the game is just selling unexpectedly well, my FLGS is preordering a bunch of all the ships since our gaming club dive all the way into the game

I'm curious about the miniature game company ranking part, I did a quick internet search and couldn't find something on this regard, I would really appreciate if you could share a link to where to see this

I would also like to see the numbers. As far as I know, Privateer Press has never released sales information…
man, I didn't think to check Barnes&Noble. I haven't been able to find ANYTHING and am stuck with a lonely base set, hopelessly bidding for a decent deal on eBay.
To anyone looking, Amazon does have the X-Wing and Tie-Fighter expansions in stock. I ordered one of each and received them this week.
Here are the links:
X-Wing for $14.99 (with free shipping if you order $25 or more -- or have amazon prime):

TIE Figher for 14.99 (ditto):
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1616613785/ref=ox_sc_sfl_title_10?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I also regularly see wave 1 ships at Barnes and Noble at regular retail. Haven't seen wave 2 there, but it sounds like others have.
I'm lucky enough to have plenty for now, but I'll probably pick up a couple of more a-wings when the reprints come out.
Nice to see some of the wave 1 ships filtering back into stock
New York state has actually had pretty decent stock: I've found 5 X-Wing boosters, 4 Y-Wings, TONS of intercepters, A-Wings galore…almost all at Barnes & Noble. It's definitely a hotbed for models. I've gotten plenty for me and my friends, and they certainly appreciated retail rather than online sales (shudder). Sadly, no more Y's or X's-only all Ties and A-Wings in one store that I know of.

Thanks, El_Tonio. I've been unable to find any reasonably priced boxes except for the starters, YT, and Firespray. At least now I can get the cards from the expansions.
