Is Event cards a trigger Ability?

By Khalpongo, in 2. AGoT Rules Discussion

FAQ, Version 4.0, Page 16(beginning): 2) Play an event card from your hand (this is also called "triggering" an event card ability).

Q: Does playing an event cards are under "OPPONENTS TRIGGERED EFFECTS"? Are "TRIGGERED ABILITIES" are under TRIGGER EFFECTS? cause there are cards that says "Immune to OPPONENTS triggered effects" like MEEREEN(Location/Targ).

As far as the game mechanics are concerned, there really is no difference between "triggered effects" and "triggered abilities" (of which all events are the former). The only distinction is that effects are any card and abilities are any card in play under your control…. edit: or not under your control… whatever is affecting it will distinguish which.

Anything that refers to "triggered abilities," is only going to affect things in play, while if it refers to "triggered effects," it's going to affect anything with Any phase:, Response:, Challenges: , etc, whether it's in play or not.

Meaning, of course, that events are never triggered abilities. (They are always triggered effects.)

Yes. Meereen will give immunity to opponents' event cards. (It seems that was the question you were asking.)
