The Laughing Storm we all know protects your hand from having something discarded from it while he’s standing.
The Weasel’s way says " Response: After a player searches his deck and reveals 1 or more cards, name one of those cards. That player must place that card in his discard pile."
Ok the interaction I am interested here is with something like Summoning Seasons. Say there is The laughing Storm in play and you search for a character. Now Common sense says you would discard the card because it says to. Except the timing structure does not give a response window (except save cancel and this is neither) until after the card resolves, passive abilities trigger and then responses so the card would already be in your hand. So it seems to me that if you have the Laughing Storm in play standing already The Weasel’s way would be useless against something that searches and then places the card in your hand. Am I right on this or does this card somehow skip the placing it in your hand and happen prior to the car entering your hand?
