I do think I will Have an x-wing poster board everyone can sign and put where they are from and see if we can get a lot of different players to sign it and see if we can get all the states represented. then I can post it on face book or here for everyone to see. does that sound like a good thing folks?

Hey guys I'm a noob who just picked up the game two weeks ago. I'm going to Gencon and was wondering if anyone would want to play some friendly games and help a new guy out.

This is my situation also. I used to be big in Heroclix & other WK games, especially the Star Wars Pocketmodel TCG which I still play. X-Wing seemed the logical next step which was kinda confirmed in my mind when WizKids announced Star Trek Attack Wing using FF's flight path system. I will definitely be getting that as well as some X-Wing expansions. Not really wanting to do the tourney thing but hope to get some games going on the side with experienced players who can share some knowledge. First time in Indy since GenCon 07. Hope to see you guys there.

I feel like I could have typed this exact post. Heroclix has burnt me out lately and finally drove me to try another game. What better then a Star Wars fighter game! Maybe we should start a specific Gencon free play thread where people can list times they are free and try and get some games organized on the side.

Just found out that the xwing maps are going to be pulled Thursday night for the netrunner tourney on friday. So we're going to need to be scoping somewhere out for pickup games on friday.

I'll be bringing my playmat, so that's at least 1... *shrug*

I know you can ask Gencon HQ where they have open table space and they will gladly point you to an open area so you don't accidentally take over a space a game will be running soon.

It seems we will be trying the Embassy Suites on Friday. I'll try to be there most of the day, except for the 1:00 seminar.
