By DarkGuard, in X-Wing Rules Questions

i know you can barrel roll and move yourself slightly foward ( place the 1 movment at the front of your ship and when you move your ship the 1 movement alligns at the back )

but can you barrel roll and move yourself slightly backwards ( place the 1 movment at the back of your ship and when you move your ship the 1 movement alligns at the front)

You can indeed end up moving a little backwards with barrel roll.

Where in the rules or FAQs does it say you can go back to front with a barrel roll?

Rulebook page 8, under Barrel Roll.

You're still going sideways, but you can start with the template along the very back edge of one side and end with it along the very front edge, allowing yourself a slight move backwards.
