Unit characters and unit vehicles.

By insane0001, in Star Wars: The Card Game - Rules Questions

hello,

Is there a rule in combat that makes differences in characters and vehicles?

Ex: i attack with Vader (unit) and opponent blocks with Red Five (vehicle).

My Vader now kills the Red Five. Where is the logic in this? Red Five moves in space (flying) and can be killed by a unit character?

Are there rules for this?

Units can block units and vehicles can block vehicles?

i think with an errata for this, the game would level up even more in tactics and stategic.

Feedback please.

Thanks

There will be no errata, nothing in the rules says this isn't a legal play. But for those seeking more thematic thrills, and sure, sometimes I do with anything Star Wars, there are many explanations.

Imagine Red Five taking off in an attack on the Death Star objective. Dark Side sees this and decides to send off Vader who is the only unit not exhausted from previous epic engagements elsewhere in the galaxy. Vader then grabs the nearest generic tie fighter and takes off to defend his beloved battlestation and blow Red 5 to pieces. Vader is a skilled pilot, best in the galaxy I've heard.

Also, there are some prejudices against differing units. Note that droids are not characters. Some cards specify to target vehicles(Talon Roll). Some cards say to target non-vehicles.(I agree you can't Force Choke a starfighter) You can't send character units to the LS Home One objective. There are already some slight restrictions to keep it thematic with imagination, while allowing some freedom for this game to be a game.
