Critical hits and death?

By Bledthiig, in Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay

Grim Foehammer a dwarf slayer has a toughness of 4. Does it take 5 critical hits (cards) to kill him? Or is it the value on the critical cards that matter?

So if he has 3 critical wounds of 2/2/3 then goes unconscious and takes another 2 critical. Is he dead or just unconscious?

Thanks in advance,

The severity of a cricitical wound has no impact on whether someone dies or not; a toughness 4 character must have 5 critical wounds of any severity AND be unconscious due to having more wounds than your wound threshold to die, you could walk around with 5 criticals and not be dead if your wound threshold is not reached.

Note that critical wounds count towards you wound threshold too. So if you have 5 wounds and 1 critical you actually have 6 wounds towards your wound threshold.

Also note that if you are hit for "4 wounds, +1critical" you take 4 wounds and turn 1 of those 'face up' into a critical wound, not suffer 4 wounds AND 1 critical, at the end of this attack you would have 4 wound cards infront of you, 1 of which is 'face up'.
