Great writeup, Syd… thanks for sharing and running a great tourney by all accounts! Bummed I couldn't make it, but I'm looking forward to seeing all my Norcal friends again at KUBLA in less than 2 weeks! :)

Bronson, I can't wait either! Hard to believe it is coming up so soon. Very little time to build something Kubla-worthy! Here are some more details on the tournament for those keeping score at home.

The Top 8 after 5 rounds of Swiss were:

1. John Bruno
2. John Kraus
3. David Strong
4. Brandon Griffin
5. Michael Hackman
6. David Hopper
7. Brooks Mitchell
8. Angela Steele

Top 4

2. John Kraus
5. Michael Hackman
6. David Hopper
8. Angela Steele

Finals

5. Michael Hackman
6. David Hopper

Champion

6. David Hopper

As you can see the finals was an all-Targ slugfest, Maesters Vs. Dragons. Four out of top 8 were Targaryen and three out of top four were Targaryen. Blood and Fire.

there seems to be an error in your standings. it indicates that a woman made the top 4 ;)

(omg take a joke :P )

Comments like these are so polarizing it's interesting. I know it's just a joke, but an ironic reason that some people get annoyed by the joke is the fact that it shouldn't need to even be joked about. So pointing it out jokingly winds up exacerbating it, it's really weird.

Thanks for running an excellent event, Syd. We had a blast! Well worth the drive. See you in a couple of weeks.

KUBLAAAAAAAA!!!!!

Wish I could have made it up. See you all at Kubla. Congrats to Angela for back to back top 8 finishes and taking out the champ!

Has the winner posted a tournament report anywhere yet?
